For the functions f(x) = 2x + 3 and g(x) = 6x + 2, which composition produces the greatest output?

f(g(x)) = 2 (6x + 2) + 3 = 12x + 7

for x = 1;

f(g(x)) = f(g(1)) = 12 (1) + 7 = 19

g(f(x)) = 6 (2x + 3 ) + 2 = 12x + 20

g(f(x)) = g(f(1)) = 12 (1) + 20 = 32

<span>Thus option “D” is correct. </span>

Find the difference. express your answer in simplest form. (2s/s^2-4s+4) - (4/s^2-4s+4)
LUCKY_DIMON [66]
To find the difference, we are going to destroy the parenthesis first, and then, we are going to perform the operations. Remember that to destroy a parenthesis preceded by a negative sign (-), you should change the signs of the factors inside the parenthesis:
\frac{2s}{s^2-4s+4} -( \frac{4}{s^2-4s+4} )
\frac{2s}{s^2-4s+4} -\frac{4}{s^2-4s+4}= \frac{2s-4}{s^2-4s+4}

Now we can factor both numerator and denominator and simplify:
\frac{2s-4}{s^2-4s+4} = \frac{2(s-2)}{(s-2)^2} = \frac{2}{s-2}

We can conclude that the difference in simplest form is: \frac{2}{s-2}

Find the hcf 8x(x - 2) -2(x - 2)
charle [14.2K]

We can see both terms have a (x-2) in them.

We can also see that 8 and 2 are both even so there is a 2 in common.

This means that the gcd or hcf or whatever you call it is 2(x-2)

**Just mentioning most of the time we call it the GCD(greatest common divisor) or the GCF(greatest common factor) and almost never uses hcf :)
