Answer:

Magnetic Field Strength

Explanation:

The effect of the splitting of the spectral lines of an atom into several of its components when a static magnetic field is present is referred to as Zeeman Effect.

The spectral lines here corresponds to the various discrete energy levels in the sun at which the emission and absorption of the different energy levels of the sun occurs.

The splitting of the spectral lines occurs due to the presence of the strong magnetic field on the surface of the sun.

Thus the Zeeman Effect is used to measure the magnetic field strength on the sun's surface.

Magnesium is a highly flammable element which is easily combustible in the presence of oxygen:
NemiM [27]

4 atoms

Explanation:

On the product side, we expect to find 4 atoms of the product.

    An atom is the smallest indivisible particle that takes part in a chemical reaction.

    An element is a distinct substance that cannot be split-up into simpler substances. Such substances consist of only one kind of atom.

    In this reaction we have:

       2 elements:             Mg                O

on the reactant side:

   We have two moles of Mg: 2 atoms of Mg

            1 mole of oxygen gas: 2 atoms of O

                             total atoms:    4 atoms

According to the law of conservation of matter "in a chemical reaction, matter is neither created nor destroyed".

We expect to find 4 atoms of products which is MgO on the product side.

              2Mg + O₂ →  2MgO + heat

So far in your life, you may have assumed that as you are sitting in your chair right now, you are not accelerating. However, th
shutvik [7]

Answer:

Answer is explained in the explanation section.

Explanation:

A)

Solution:

For this to find, we need to calculate the centripetal acceleration on the equator.

The centripetal acceleration of the equator:

a = 4\pi ^{2}RcosФ/T^{2},

where,

R is the radius of the earth

R = 6378 KM = 6.3 x 10^{6} and

T is the time period

T = 24 h = 86164.1 s

At Equator, Ф = 0°

So, CosФ = 1

Hence,

a = 4\pi ^{2}R/T^{2}

By plugging in the values, we get:

a = 4 x (3.14^{2}) x (6.3 x 10^{6}) / 86164.1^{2}

a = 0.03 m/s^{2}

Hence, this is the centripetal acceleration on the equator. And we also know that, acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s^{2} which is very higher than the centripetal acceleration on the equator.

B) Normal force exerted by chair will always be equal and opposite to the mass times gravitational acceleration (F = mg). Otherwise, I would be thrown away from chair in case the normal force is not equal and opposite or I would be drag down to the earth due to greater mass times gravitational acceleration. Hence, both are equal and opposite.

C) Of course, this is not a lie, it is true because the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/ s^{2} and as we calculated the acceleration on the equator is 0.03 m/s^{2} which way too low to experience.

For percentage difference,

9.8 - 0.03 = 9.77

So, % diff = (9.8 - 9.77)/9.8 x 100

% diff = 0.00306 x 100

% diff = 0.306%

Obviously, this is way too low to experience.

D) With the help of same formula as discussed above, we have:

a = 4\pi ^{2}RcosФ/T^{2},

Here, Ф = 44.4°

Just putting the values. we get

a = 0.0241 m/s^{2}

Acceleration while sitting in my chair.

Why could the concentration of matter at the center of an active galaxy like M87 not be made of stars?
romanna [79]

Answer:

an active galaxy is the galaxy that produces large amounts of energy in a very small volume of space.

Explanation:

active galaxies such as the M87 gives out extremely bright straight jets having speeds close to the speed of light providing the evidence that power in active galaxies is concentrated in a small region. this power from such a small region cannot be generated throught nuclear fusion as it happens in stars, this is the region why the concentration of matter in the center of this galaxies is not made up of stars.

What does conserving mass mean in a chemical equation?
mixas84 [53]

There is equal number of each type of atom on the reactant and product side.

Explanation:

Conserving mass in a chemical reaction means balancing the conservation of mass through the law and balancing the atoms. There is equal number of each type of atom on the reactant and product side.

There is an equal amount of atoms on both the sides that is the reactant side as well as the product side, it balances the atoms to have a conservation of mass, through the law of conservation of mass.

Using the law of conservation mass, a chemical reaction is balanced and has a conserved mass, when the reactant and the product side contain equal atoms.
