As warm moist air driven by the wind reaches the mountain it rises to higher altitudes where the temperature is cooler, causing the moisture to condense into clouds and drop as precipitation. On the leeward side the mountain shields the environment from the wind so the air is less likely to rise to higher altitudes. I think answer C.

Answer;

C. Warm, moist air rises and looses its moisture

Explanation;

  • The wind ward side of a mountain is the side that faces the prevailing wind while the leeward side is the side that is sheltered from the wind by the elevation of the mountain.
  • On the wind ward side, the warm air is forced to rise along the slope of the mountain. As the air rises the mountain slope, it cools. This results to the formation of clouds and eventually precipitation that falls on the wind ward side of the mountain.

Balance

_Mg + _HCL = _MgCl2 + H2
Pavel [41]
_Mg + _HCL = _MgCl2 + H2
Separate the terms on each side:

_Mg + _HCl = _MgCl2 + H2

Mg- 1                 Mg-1

H-1                    H-2

Cl-1                    Cl-2

Mg is balanced on both sides so move on to the next (put a 1 in the space).

1Mg

There are two H's and two Cl's on the results side, so to balance the equation put a 2 as a coefficient for HCl and it'll all balance out.

2HCl

Balamced equation will be:

1Mg + 2HCL = 1MgCl2 + H2

An oxide is a molecule that has 2 Oxygen atoms in its empirical formula. Stoichiometry would be used as the ratio of Oxygen to Dioxides is 3:2. So 52.29 would be multiplied by 3/2. The answer is 78.435 Mol of CO2 are formed.
