Now assume that the water is contained in a 0.1-kg aluminum pot (cAl = 900 J/kg-K) that is initially at 293 K just like the wate

The energy transferred into the pot and water system in order to raise its temperature to the boiling point of water is Q = 7213.5 J.

Explanation:

The thermal energy is transferred from one object to another with a temperature difference is called heat and it is measured in joules (J). This is because heat is a transfer of energy.

The energy moves from the hotter object to the colder object during the energy transfer whereas the hotter object gets cooled and the colder object gets warmed up.

(The boiling point of water is 373.15 K)

The energy transferred is given by the formula,

Q = mass of Pot * Specific Heat of Aluminum * ( 373.15 - 293 )

Q = 0.1 * 900 * 80.15

Q = 7213.5 J

Which property allows objects that do not produce their own light
KatRina [158]

Answer:

Reflection

Explanation:

As light is scattered on items which do not generate illumination, they reflect it. This is attributed to the fact that light reflects off of themselves. The moon, for example, absorbs sunlight such that it can be seen at night.

An applied force of 50 N is used to accelerate an object, that weighs 73 N, to the right across a frictional surface. The object
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

5.38 m/s^2

Explanation:

NET force causing the object to accelerate  =  50 -10 = 40 N

Mass of the object =  73 N / 9.81 m/s^2 = 7.44 kg

F = ma

40 = 7.44 * a         a = 5.38 m/s^2

yanalaym [24]

Answer:

Explanation:

400 W = 400 J/s
