A race car completes the final lap of a race on a 2-kilometer circular track. At the start of the lap, it crosses the line at 60

meters/second. It completes the lap 28.57 seconds later, crossing the line at 85 meters/second. Calculate the displacement and average acceleration of the car within the span of 12 seconds.

Answer: A
A. Displacement is 0 meters, and acceleration is 0.88 meters/second2.
B. Displacement is 2,000 meters, and acceleration is 1.14 meters/second2.
C. Displacement is 0 meters, and acceleration is 70.0 meters/second2.
D. Displacement is 2,000 meters, and acceleration is 80.0 meters/second2.
E. Displacement is 0 meters, and acceleration is 0.70 meters/second2.

-Displacement is change in position in a specified time interval. Since the initial and the final positions are equal, the displacement is zero.
-Average acceleration is change in velocity over change in time. Hence, the average acceleration is (85 m/s - 60 m/s)/28.57 s = 0.88 m/s^2

A 1000 kg car moving a 10 m/s collides with a stationary 2000 kg truck. The two vehicles interlock as a result of the collision.
IgorLugansk [536]

Answer:

v₃ = 3.33 [m/s]

Explanation:

This problem can be easily solved using the principle of linear momentum conservation. Which tells us that momentum is preserved before and after the collision.

In this way, we can propose the following equation in which everything that happens before the collision will be located to the left of the equal sign and on the right the moment after the collision.

(m_{1}*v_{1})+(m_{2}*v_{2})=(m_{1}+m_{2})*v_{3}

where:

m₁ = mass of the car = 1000 [kg]

v₁ = velocity of the car = 10 [m/s]

m₂ = mass of the truck = 2000 [kg]

v₂ = velocity of the truck = 0 (stationary)

v₃ = velocity of the two vehicles after the collision [m/s].

Now replacing:

(1000*10)+(2000*0)=(1000+2000)*v_{3}\\v_{3}=3.33[m/s]

Help!!
scZoUnD [109]

If Fg=mg=ma and, Fg(planetX)=1/5Fg(earth)

then the time would be 5x of the time as gravity is acceleration. So 3.9s*5=19.5s

As the force of gravity is less, then the acceleration of masses is also less, therefore it will take more time for the object to fall by the factor of the force of gravity difference

A student has the following equipment - copper wire, nail made of iron,a battery, paperclips.
Anna11 [10]
Taking the copper wire, he has to wind it around the nail made of iron. After which, he then connect both ends of the copper wire to the battery, so an electric charge travels through the wire. This is the basic electromagnet. Since a current is now flowing through the wire, a magnetic field is produced. Placing the electromagnet near the mixture of copper and iron, the magnet should attract the pieces of iron, as iron is more magnetic compared to copper. This is done over a period of time, so that only the copper pieces are left in the mixture.
