<u>Answer</u>

The correct answer is B

<u>Explanation</u>

The side length opposite to the angle \theta has length 3 units.

The length of the hypotenuse is 8 units.

We use the trigonometric ratio that involves the length of the opposite side and the hypotenuse, which is

\sin\theta=\frac{Opposite}{Hypotenuse}

\sin\theta=\frac{3}{8}

This is the same as,

\sin\theta=0.375

We take the sine inverse to obtain,

\theta=\sin^{-1}(0.375)

This evaluates to

\theta=22.024

Therefore the value of the angle \theta is 22.0\degree to the nearest tenth

Seven seconds after a brilliant flash of lightning, thunder shakes the house. How far was the lightning strike from the house? S
Zepler [3.9K]

Answer:

About two kilometers away

\rm distance=2.401\ km

Explanation:

Given:

The time gap between the light and sound to travel to the house, t=7\ s

<em>Since the clouds are formed in the troposphere region of the atmosphere which extends from 8 kilometers to 12 kilometers above the earth-surface and the velocity of light is 300000 kilometers per second so it is visible almost instantly, hence we neglect the time taken by the light to travel to the house from the clouds.</em>

<u>∴Distance between the lightning-strike and the house:</u>

\rm distance=v\times t

we have the speed of sound as: v=343\ m.s^{-1}

So,

\rm distance=343\times 7

\rm distance=2401\ m

\rm distance=2.401\ km

A 103 kg physics professor has fallen into the Grand Canyon. Luckily, he managed to grab a branch and is now hanging 93 m below
siniylev [52]

Answer:

125.83672 seconds

Explanation:

P = Power of the horse = 1 hp = 746 W (as it is not given we have assumed the horse has the power of 1 hp)

m = Mass of professor = 103 kg

g = Acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²

h = Height of professor = 93 m

Work done would be equal to the potential energy

W=mgh\\\Rightarrow W=103\times 9.8\times 93\\\Rightarrow W=93874.2\ J

Power is given by

P=\frac{W}{t}\\\Rightarrow t=\frac{W}{P}\\\Rightarrow t=\frac{93874.2}{746}\\\Rightarrow t=125.83672\ seconds

The time taken by the horse to pull the professor is 125.83672 seconds

How does the size of a planet affected the amount and type of gas in its atmosphere
dalvyx [7]
There are lots of variables that directly and indirectly contribute to the presence of gas on a surface
if the size of a planet is relatively small it will in turn be that of a smaller area which results in the less area to be covered for gas which basically means higher presence
I can go in depth more but I don't think that would be necessary all you need to know is this ...based on the size and gas will in turn be parallel to it's conformity

One watt is A. equal to one kilogram per second B. the power that can be delivered by an average horse C. the same as one-foot p
Naddik [55]

Answer:

D. the proper replacement unit for one joule per second

Explanation:

When energy is divided by the time the energy was used we get power

P=\dfrac{E}{t}\\\Rightarrow P=\dfrac{mv^2}{t}\\\Rightarrow P=\dfrac{kg(\dfrac{m^2}{s^2})}{s}\\\Rightarrow P=kg(\dfrac{m^2}{s^2})}\times \dfrac{1}{s}\\\Rightarrow P=\dfrac{kgm^2}{s^3}

kg\dfrac{m^2}{s^2}=Joule

P=\dfrac{kgm^2}{s^3}

So, the answer is D. the proper replacement unit for one joule per second
