Why is being geosynchronous important for telecommunications satellites

Physics

Because any antenna on the ground that uses a satellite has to stay pointed at the satellite.

If the satellite is moving in the sky, then the antenna has to keep moving to follow it.

But if the satellite APPEARS to be motionless in the sky, then the antenna on the ground can be aimed once, and it doesn't have to be moved after that.  "Set it and forget it."

There would be no TV satellites if everybody who wanted to use it had to keep moving their little dish to keep the TV picture coming in.

How does an inclined plane affect the effort needed to move a load vertically?
lys-0071 [83]

Answer:

Decreases

Explanation:

"Effort" usually refers to the applied force.  An inclined plane decreases the force required while increasing the distance that the force is exerted over.  So even though there's less force needed, the amount of work stays the same.

The pressure exerted by a liquid column of depth 0.5 m on the base of its
Alik [6]

Answer:

1020.4kg/m³

35m³

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Depth  = 0.5m

Pressure exerted  = 5000N/m²

Unknown = density of the liquid  = ?

Solution:

To find the density of this unknown liquid, we use the expression below:

       Pressure of liquid  = density x height x acceleration due to gravity

   5000 = density x 0.5 x 9.8

    Density  = 1020.4kg/m³

B.

Density of water  = 1000kg/m³

Mass of water  = 35000kg

 Unknown:

Volume of water  = ?

Solution:

 The volume of water can be derived from the expression below:

   Volume  = \frac{mass}{density}

  Volume  = \frac{35000}{1000}    = 35m³
