Answer:

Focal length is 12 cm

Nature is Convex lens

Explanation:

Object distance=p= 10 cm

Image distance =q = -60 cm (Image is at the same side)

focal length= f = ?

According to lens equation

1/f = 1/p + 1/q

1/f = 1/10 + 1/(-60)

1/f = 1/10 - 1/60

1/f = 5/60

or

f= 12 cm

(It is a convex lens because focal length is positive)

At t = 0, object A is dropped from the roof of a building. At the same instant, object B is dropped from a window 10 m below the
dsp73

Answer:

Explanation:

Given two objects are dropped simultaneously

Object A is 10 m higher than object B therefore

Distance covered by object A is given by

y_a(t) is given by

y=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2

where y=displacement

u=initial velocity

a=acceleration

t=time

y_a(t)=0+0.5gt^2--1

for object B

y_b(t)=0+0.5gt^2--2

Subtract 1 and 2 we get

y_a(t)-y_b(t)=0

i.e. they will travel equal distance in equal time and distance between them remain 10 m until object B hits the ground

Two skiers arrive at the bottom of a ramp travelling at the same speed. Friction may be ignored in this problem. One skier is an
inysia [295]

Answer:

Both will reach to same height

Explanation:

Here we can see that friction is to be ignored

so we can say that work done by all the non conservative forces is change in mechanical energy

Since all non conservative forces here is zero

so mechanical energy is conserved here

so here we can say that sum of initial kinetic energy and potential energy = sum of final kinetic energy and potential energy

So we will have

\frac{1}{2}mv^2 = mgH

now maximum height is given as

H = \frac{v^2}{2g}

so here we can say that greatest height will be independent of the mass so they both will reach at same height
