The theoretical yield of carbon dioxide formed from the reaction of 81.0g of hexane and 360.g of oxygen gas is 312.63 grams

calculation

step 1 :write the equation for reaction

2CH3(CH2)4CH3 +19 O2 → 12CO2 +14 H2O

step2:

 find moles of each reactant

mole= mass/molar mass

moles of CH3(CH2)4CH3 = 81 g / 86 g/mol = 0.942 moles

moles of O2= 360g/32 =11.25 moles

step 3: find the moles of CO2

since O2 is the limiting reagent and the mole ratio in equation above of O2 :CO2 is 19 :12 the moles of CO2

= 11.25 x12/19 =7.1053 moles

step 4: find the theoretical yield

= moles x molar mass (44g/mol)

- 7.1053 moles x 44 g/mol= 312.63 grams

Answer:

248.6352 grams is the theoretical yield of carbon dioxide formed from the reaction.

Explanation:

2CH_3(CH_2)_4CH_3 +19O_2\rightarrow 12CO_2+14H_2O

Moles of hexane= \frac{81.0 g}{86 g/mol}=0.9418 mol

Moles of oxygen gas = \frac{360 g}{32 g/mol}=11.25 mol

Moles of hexane are in limited quantity. So, the theoretical yield of carbon dioxide formed will depend upon moles of hexane.

2 moles of hexane gives 12 moles of carbon dioxide.

Then 0.9418 mol of hexane will gives:

\frac{12}{2}\times 0.9418 mol=5.6508 mol

Mass of 5.6508 moles of carbon dioxide gas L:

5.6508 mol\times 44 g/mol=248.6352 g

248.6352 grams is the theoretical yield of carbon dioxide formed from the reaction.

Answer:

The correct option is A) The light moths will be captured by predators more easily than the dark moths, and the population of dark moths will rise.

Explanation:

As we can see, the colour of the trees do not match with the light moths. Instead, the colour of the trees resembles the dark moths. This adaptation will work best for the dark moths to protect it from its predators. The light moths lack this adaptation and can easily be attacked by the predators. Hence, the population of the dark moth will increase as they are better adapted to live in such an environment.

How much 2.0 M phenylmagnesium chloride solution is needed if adding 2.9 mmol of Grignard reagent to a reaction? Your answer sho
Vladimir [108]

Answer:

1,45 mL

Explanation:

The Grignard reaction is a very important organometallic chemical reaction where the Grignard reagent ( alkyl, vinyl, or aryl-magnesium halides) acts as nucleophile in order to the formation of Carbon-Carbon bonds.

In the problem, the phenylmagnesium chloride is the grignard reagent. The volume of 2.0 M phenylmagnesium chloride solution you need to add 2.9 mmol is:

2,9 mmol × \frac{1mL}{2,0mM} = 1,45 mL

Which element, if combined with chlorine, will have the greatest attraction for the chlorine electrons? N P As
Mumz [18]
Basically, the answer for this would be N or NITROGEN. If we combine nitrogen with chlorine, what happens is that, it can attract more chlorine electrons towards itself. The reason is that, nitrogen is considered more electronegative compared to chlorine. So best answer for this is the first option.

The ph of a 0.55 m aqueous solution of hypobromous acid, hbro, at 25.0 °c is 4.48. what is the value of ka for hbro?
gladu [14]
Hbro dissociate as follows
HBro---> H+ + BrO-
 Ka= (H+)(BrO-) / HBro
PH = -log (H+)
therefore (H+) = 10^-4.48= 3.31 x10^-5
ka is therefore= ( 3.31 x 10^-5)^2/0.55=1.99 x10^-9
