Reaction rate depends on how often molecules come into contact with each other, the way in which they come together, and the amo

unt of energy they have when they come in contact.
Which of the following factors would you expect to affect the way in which molecules affect each other?

B) catalysts
C) pressure
D) temperature

The most appropriate answer is D ! temperature !

as when temperature increases KE increases and the collision factor and frequency increases !

I know that the volume wouldn't have much affect because putting the 2 molecules together would cause the volumes density. I believe it would be the catalyst. I'm not completely sure because I haven't taken science in soo long.

The light produced by the electron in strontium has a wavelength of 608 nm. How much energy must be added to strontium to get it
liq [111]

According to Einstein the energy of photon is given by the equation,

E = hν = h . c/λ

where h is Planck's constant, c is the speed of light, ν is the frequency of light and λ is the wavelength of light.

Given, wavelength = 608 nm = 608 x 10⁻⁹ m

Conversion factor: 1 nm = 10⁻⁹ m

c = 3 x 10⁸ m/s

h = 6.626× 10⁻³⁴ J.s

Substituting the data into the equation we get,

E = h . c/λ

E = 6.626× 10⁻³⁴ J.s x (3 x 10⁸ m/s) / 608 x 10⁻⁹ m

E =  3.27 x 10⁻¹⁹J

3.27 x 10⁻¹⁹J  energy must be added to strontium to get it to produce 608 nm wavelength.

What volume, in mL, of concentrated 16 M nitric acid would you need to use in order to prepare 500.0 mL of a 0.250 M HNO3(aq) so
shtirl [24]

Given :

Initial concentration of nitric acid, C_1 = 16\ M.

Final concentration of nitric acid, C_2 =  0.250 \ M.

Volume of HNO_3, V _2= 500\ mL = 0.5\ L .

To Find :

Volume needed( V_1 ).

Solution :

We know,

C_1V_1 =C_2V_2\\\\16 \times V_1 = 0.250 \times  0.5 \\\\V_1 = \dfrac{0.250 \times  0.5}{16}\\\\V_1 = 0.0078125\ L = 7.8125 \ mL

Hence, this is the required solution.

How many moles are in 0.456 g of chlorine
Mila [183]

Answer:

0.013 moles Cl

Explanation:

Grams --> Moles       Divide by Molar Mass

Molar Mass of Chlorine (Cl) is 35.5. This can be found on the Periodic Table.

Set Up:     (0.456 g Cl) (1 Cl / 35.5 g)

                0.456 g * 1 = 0.456

                0.456 / 35.5 = 0.01284507

                Round to 0.013

Why is it not recommended to use red, yellow or blue in the chromatography lab? Explain your reasoning in at least two sentences
bazaltina [42]

Answer:

solvent (such as water, oil or isopropyl alcohol) is allowed to absorb up the paper strip. ... Different molecules run up the paper at different rates. As a result, components of the solution separate and, in this case, become visible as strips of color on the chromatography paper.
