Since momentum = velocity * mass, when mass decreases 4 times, it's momentum will also decrease 4 times, if velocity remains the same.

A crate pushed along the floor with velocity vâ i slides a distance d after the pushing force is removed. if the mass of the cra
Alenkinab [10]
d The mass is doubled which means that both the momentum and kinetic energy are also doubled. Also the normal force that's acting along with the coefficient of kinetic friction is also doubled. So the friction that's working to slow down the crate is doubled. So the crate will have double the kinetic energy that needs to be dissipated, but the rate of dissipation is also doubled, so the total time required to dissipate the kinetic energy is the same. And since both crates start out with the same velocity and since they'll lose energy (and velocity) at the same proportional rate, they'll take the same distance to slide to a stop.

What does it mean if a paint sample "matches" a known sample from a vehicle? Does this indicate the same source? Why or why not?
Mandarinka [93]
It wouldn't indicate the same source if the paint was from a different place. If the paint was the same brand and color it would be but if not then no

g a horizontal wheel of radius is rotating about a vertical axis. What is the magnitude of the resultant acceleration of a bug t
mihalych1998 [28]

Answer:

   a = w² r

Explanation:

In this exercise, indicate that the wheel has angular velocity w, the worm experiences the same angular velocity if it does not move, and has an acceleration towards the center of the circle, according to Newton's second law, called the centripetal acceleration.

           a = v² / r

angular and linear variables are related

           v = w r

we substitute

          a = w² r

where r is the radius of the wheel

Explain the universal law of gravity and it's calculate from as well as the value of g
horrorfan [7]

Answer:

According to the Newton's law of gravitational every object in the universe attracts every other objects with a force which is called gravitational force.This gravitational force is (i) directly proportional to the product of their masses and (ii) inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centres.

Explanation:

Newton's law of gravitational is called the universal law because it is applicable to all the bodies either terrestrial or celestial having any shape,size,mass or at any distance apart with any medium between them,at any time(past,present or future).

A commuter backs her car out of her garage with an acceleration of 1.40 m/s^2. (a) How long does it take her to reach a speed of
jonny [76]

Answer:

a) It takes her 1.43 s to reach a speed of 2.00 m/s.

b) Her deceleration is - 2.50 m/s²

Explanation:

The equation of velocity for an object that moves in a straight line with constant acceleration is as follows:

v = v0 + a · t

Where:

v = velocty.

v0 = initial velocity.

a = acceleration.

t = time.

a) Using the equation of velocity, let´s consider that the car moves in the positive direction. Then:

v = v0 + a · t

2.00 m/s = 0 m/s + 1.40 m/s² · t

t = 2.00 m/s / 1.40 m/s²

t = 1.43 s

It takes her 1.43 s to reach a speed of 2.00 m/s

b) Let´s use again the equation of velocity, knowing that at t = 0.800 s the velocity is 0 m/s:

v = v0 + a · t

0 = 2.00 m/s + a · 0.800 s

-2.00 m/s / 0.800 s = a

a = -2.50 m/s²

Her deceleration is - 2.50 m/s²
