A conveyor belt is used to send burgers through a grill- ing machine. If the grilling machine is 1.2m long and the burgers requi

re 2.8min to cook, how fast must the conveyor belt travel? If the burgers are spaced 25 cm apart, what is the rate of burger production (in burgers/min)?

Answer:

Rate = 1.71 burger/min

Explanation:

Length of the conveyor belt is given as

L = 1.2 m

time taken to cook one burger is given as

t = 2.8 min = 168 s

now we can find the speed of the belt as

v = \frac{distance}{speed}

v = \frac{1.2}{168}

v = 7.14 \times 10^{-3} m/s

Now we know that the distance between two burgers is given as 25 cm

d = 0.25 m/burger

now the production rate of burgers is given as

Rate = \frac{v}{d}

Rate = \frac{7.14 \times 10^{-3} m/s}{0.25 m/burger}

Rate = 0.0286\frac{burger}{sec}

Rate = 0.0286\times 60\frac{burger}{min}

Rate = 1.71 burger/min

Compare blue and red light from the visible spectrum. which has: the longer wavelength? the greater frequency? the greater energ
Hitman42 [59]
1) By looking at the table of the visible spectrum, we see that blue light has a wavelength in the range [450-490 nm], while red light has wavelength in the range [620-750 nm]. Therefore, red light has longer wavelength than blue light.

2) The frequency f of an electromagnetic wave is related to its wavelength \lambda by the formula
f= \frac{c}{\lambda}
where c is the speed of light. We see that the frequency is inversely proportional to the wavelength, so the shorter the wavelength, the greater the frequency. In this case, blue light has shorter wavelength than red light, so blue light has greater frequency than red light.

3) The energy of the photons of an electromagnetic wave is given by
E=hf
where h is the Planck constant and f is the frequency. We see that the energy is directly proportional to the frequency, so the greater the frequency, the greater the energy. In this problem, blue light has greater frequency than red light, so blue light has also greater energy than red light.

Forces that act on an object but are not equal in size
mezya [45]
Forces that are equal in size but opposite in direction and do not cause a change in an object's movement are called balanced forces.

forces that aren't equal in size and do cause a change in movement (what it seems like you're asking for) are called UNBALANCED FORCES

so answer (in case that wasn't clear, as I'm tired) : unbalanced forces
