A 1.53-kg bucket hangs on a rope wrapped around a pulley of mass 7.07 kg and radius 66 cm. This pulley is frictionless in its ax
levacccp [35]

Answer:

\alpha = 6.431\,\frac{rad}{s^{2}}

Explanation:

The pulley is modelled by the Newton's Laws, whose equation of equilibrium is:

\Sigma M = T \cdot R = \frac{1}{2}\cdot M \cdot R^{2}\cdot \alpha

Given that tension is equal to the weight of the bucket, the angular acceleration experimented by the pulley is:

T = \frac{1}{2}\cdot M \cdot R \cdot \alpha

m_{b}\cdot g = \frac{1}{2}\cdot M \cdot R \cdot \alpha

\alpha = \frac{2\cdot m_{b}\cdot g}{M\cdot R}

\alpha = \frac{2\cdot (1.53\,kg)\cdot \left(9.807\,\frac{m}{s^{2}} \right)}{(7.07\,kg)\cdot (0.66\,m)}

\alpha = 6.431\,\frac{rad}{s^{2}}

The answer i got is 133.3 but i’m not completely sure . I got that because to get velocity i’m pretty sure it’s distance over time. So in between 8 and 10 minutes it’s 9 minutes. I pretty much just did 1200 divided by 9.

The large blade of a helicopter is rotating in a horizontal circle. The length of the blade is 7.26 m, measured from its tip to
Elan Coil [88]

Answer:

\frac{a_1}{a_2}=1.67

Explanation:

The equation for centripetal acceleration is a_{cp}=r\omega^2. If r_1=7.26m is the distance from the center of the point at the tip of the blade and r_2=4.35m is the distance from the center of another point in the blade, and since both points are rotating at the same angular velocity \omega because both of them belong to the blade, the ratio between their centripetal accelerations will be:

\frac{a_1}{a_2}=\frac{r_1 \omega^2}{r_2 \omega^2}=\frac{7.26m}{4.35m}=1.67
