Answer:

Mass = 36.38 g

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of hydrogen = 30.0 g

Mass of nitrogen = 30.0 g

Theoretical yield of reaction = ?

Mass of ammonia = ?

Chemical equation:

N₂+ 3H₂  → 2NH₃

Number of moles of N₂:

Number of moles = Mass /molar mass

Number of moles = 30 g / 28 g/mol

Number of moles = 1.07 mol

Number of moles of H₂:

Number of moles = Mass /molar mass

Number of moles = 30 g / 2g/mol

Number of moles = 15 mol

Now we will compare the moles of NH₃ with hydrogen and nitrogen .

                 H₂             :                 NH₃

                 3               :                 2

                15              :                2/3×15= 10 mol

                 N₂             :                 NH₃

                 1                :                  2

               1.07             :               2 × 1.07= 2.14 mol

The number of moles of NH₃ produced by nitrogen are less it will be limiting reactant.

Mass of ammonia:

Mass of NH₃ = moles × molar mass

Mass =2.14 mol × 17 g/mol

Mass = 36.38 g

Two Balloons one filled with hydrogen gas and second filled with neon gas. what gas should be used in an experiement to identify
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

Oxygen

Explanation:

If two balloons are filled with hydrogen gas and helium gas respectively, then we want to identify what gas is in each balloon, we have to do so by exposing the both balloons to flame in an oxygen atmosphere.

Hydrogen combines with oxygen in the presence of a flame with quite a loud sound and the flame is sustained but when a flame is brought near helium gas in a balloon, the gas will only make a little sound when exposed to the flame and extinguish the flame.

The reason for the explosion of the gas in the hydrogen balloon is that combustion of hydrogen gas is exothermic. The heating up of surrounding air molecules leads to a sudden explosion.

However, the helium balloon makes a little sound when the balloon is ruptured releasing helium gas which extinguishes the flame.

A chemist prepares a solution of calcium sulfate (CaSO_4) by measuring out 0.0101 g of calcium sulfate into a 350. mL volumetric
Citrus2011 [14]

Answer:

2.123x10⁻⁴ M (mol/L)

Explanation:

First, we are considering the molar mass for each element, a data we obtain from the periodic table:

Ca= 40

S= 32

O= 16

Then, for CaSO₄, the molecular mass is 136 g per mol

As we dissolve 0.00101 g of this salt, we are going to convert this mass in moles units:

1 mol CaSO₄=136 g → 0.0101 g=7.43x10⁻⁵ mol

We finally obtain the concentration for the 350 ml, having in mind that it should be in mol/L:

350ml=7.43x10⁻⁵ mol

1000ml (1L)=2.123x10⁻⁴ M , where M=mol/L

Look back at your data and your regression equation. (Sample data is shown to the right, with x = pressure and y = volume.) Chec
VARVARA [1.3K]
The answer is: all true

A. As the pressure of the gas increased, the volume of the gas decreased.
It is clear that if you compare the data on the left side. When the pressure increased the volume is decreased.

B. For all pairs of data of pressure and volume, P • V was appoximately the same.
The pressure is inversely related to the volume. You can take two data to prove it. Let use the first and second data
V * P= 1.03 * 50= 51.5
V * P= 1.08 * 47.5= 51.3

C. For all pairs of data of pressure and volume, P • V mr001-1.jpg k for the same value k.
D. The regression equation was of the form V = kP–1 (which is the same as V = k/P).
The value of k can be expressed as k= P*V. If the equation is turned around, it could be expressed as V= k/P
The value of k is constant on different data, proved by the calculation on the second statement above. The value of k should be around 51.5
