Answer:

With this information is not possible to calculate the mass.

Explanation:

This is a characteristic problem of energy conservation, where kinetic energy becomes potential energy. For this particular problem, we have the initial speed as input data. The moment the ball comes out of the cannon we have the maximum kinetic energy, as the ball goes up the ball will gain more potential energy as the ball loses kinetic energy, until the moment the ball reaches the maximum height. At the maximum height point, the ball will have its maximum potential energy while its kinetic energy is zero. In other words, all the kinetic energy that was, in the beginning, was transformed into potential energy.

E_{p}=E_{k}\\m*g*h=0.5*m*v^2

In the above equation the masses are canceled and we can determine the maximum height, by means of the initial speed.

h=\frac{0.5*v^2}{g} [m]

But the mass cannot be determined, since it would be necessary to know the value of the energy, in order to determine the value of the mass.

Melanie made the following diagram shown to represent some phases of the moon as seen from Earth.
timofeeve [1]

Answer:

D. The position of the first quarter moon and third quarter moon have been interchanged.

Explanation:

Phases of moon are the shapes of illuminated portion of the moon that is visible from the earth.

New moon occurs when the moon comes between the earth and the sun. The lit portion faces away from the earth.

After new moon, waxing crescent phase occurs followed by first quarter. In the first quarter, half moon is visible.

Waxing gibbous occurs which is when more than half and less than full face of the moon is visible. This is followed by full moon when earth comes between moon and the sun.

The waning gibbous phase is visible for next few days till the third quarter phase. Then waning crescent phase and finally new moon again.

In the given diagram made by Melanie, the position of first quarter and third quarter are wrong and must be interchanged.

What is the distance between two spheres, each with a charge of 2.5 x 10-6 c, when the force between them is 0.50 n?
lianna [129]
In this case, Coulomb's Law applies:

F = 1/(4πε₀) · (Q₁Q₂/r²)

You can solve it for r:

r = √[1/(4πε₀) · (Q₁Q₂/F)]

Plugging in numbers:

r = √[1/(4π·8.85×10⁻¹²) · (2.5×10⁻⁶)²/0.50]
 = 0.335m

The correct answer is: the two charges are 0.335m apart.

A motorist traveling at 12 m/s encounters a deer in the road 39 m ahead. If the maximum acceleration the vehicle’s brakes are ca
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

Motorcyclist speed=12 m/s

maximum acceleration=-6 m/s^2

distance=39 m

Let x be the distance traveled by motorist in his reaction time

therefore remaining 39-x will be traveled with -6m/s^2 acceleration

v^2-u^2=2as

s=39-x

v=0

u=12 m/s

0-12^2=2\left ( -6\right )\left ( 39-x\right )

x=27 m

Therefore he traveled 27 m in his reaction time

27=12\times t

t=2.25 s

(b)If his reaction time is 2.56 sec

then distance traveled in his reaction time

x_0=12\times 2.56=30.72 m

Remaining distance 39-30.72=8.28 m

therefore its velocity when it reaches the deer

v^2-u^2=2as

v^2=12^2+2\times \left ( -6\right )\times 8.28=44.64

v=6.681 m/s
