Why does the temperature of the water stay the same when it melts and boils?
krok68 [10]

The temperature stays the same when a solid changes to a liquid because energy is required to break the forces between particles of water therefore changing the state of matter and separating the particles away from each other.

When a liquid boils, the energy is needed by the particles to escape the surface of the liquid and boil. Instead of raising the temperature, the energy goes into the particles' kinetic energy store so it has enough speed to escape the surface of the liquid.

If 17.4 mL of 0.800 M HCl solution are needed to neutralize 5.00 mL of a household ammonia solution, what is the molar concentra
Verizon [17]
NH3  +HCl  ---->  NH4Cl

moles   of  HCl  used =    (0.8  x  17.4) /1000=  0.0139 moles
by  use   of reacting  ratio  between  HCl  to   NH4Cl    which is 1:1    therefore  the  moles   of  NH4Cl  is  also  =  0.0139 moles
molar   concentration  =  moles  /volume  in  liters

molar  concentration  is  therefore=    (0.0139/5)  x1000 =  2.7 M

ra1l [238]

Answer : The incorrect option is, The most of the mass of the atom comes from the electron cloud.

Explanation :

There are three basic particles of an atom which are neutrons, protons and electrons.

The nucleus which is present in the center of an atom that contains the neutrons and the protons. The protons are positively charged and neutrons has no charge.

The outer region of an atom contains the electrons and the electrons are negatively charged.

As per given options, the statement which is the most of the mass of the atom comes from the electron cloud is incorrect statement because the most of the mass comes from the nucleus in which protons and neutrons are present.
