KE = half of mass times squared speed

KE1 = 0.5 * 2 kg * (2 m/s)^2 = 4 J
KE2 = 0.5 * 4 kg * (3 m/s)^2 = 18 J
Second had more.

What is the change in electric potential energy in moving an electron from a location 3 × 10-10 m from a proton to a location 7
joja [24]

Answer:

4.39 x 10^-19 J

Explanation:

q1 = 1.6 x 10^-19 C

q2 = - 1.6 x 10^-19 C

r1 = 3 x 10^-10 m

r2 = 7 x 10^-10 m

The formula for the potential energy is given by

U1 = k q1 q2 / r1 = - (9 x 10^9 x 1.6 x 10^-19 x 1.6 x 10^-19) / (3 x 10^-10)

U1 = - 7.68 x 10^-19 J

U2 = k q1 q2 / r2 = - (9 x 10^9 x 1.6 x 10^-19 x 1.6 x 10^-19) / (7 x 10^-10)

U2 = - 3.29 x 10^-19 J

Change in potential energy is

U2 - U1 = - 3.29 x 10^-19 + 7.68 x 10^-19 = 4.39 x 10^-19 J

Which describes radioactive decay of a substance?
Margarita [4]
Radioactive decay is the loss of elementary particles from an unstable nucleus, ultimately changing the unstable element into another more stable element. There are five types of radioactive decay: alpha emission, beta emission, positron emission, electron capture, and gamma emission.

Two football players with mass 75kg and 100kg run directly toward each other with speeds of 6 m/s and 8 m/s respectively, If the
Rina8888 [55]

Answer:

2 m/s

Explanation:

From the law of conservation of momentum,

Total momentum before collision = total momentum after collision

mu+m'u' = V(m+m') .................................Equation 1

Where m = mass of the first player, u = initial speed of the first player, m' = mass of the second player, u' = initial speed of the second player, V = combined speed of both players.

Making V the subject of the equation,

V = (mu+m'u')/(m+m')................ Equation 2

Note: Taking the direction of the first player as positive.

Given: m = 75 kg, m' = 100 kg, u = 6 m/s, u' = -8 m/s (opposite the first player),

Substituting into equation 2

V = [(75×6)+(100×(--8))]/(75+100)

V = (450-800)/175

V = 350/175

V = - 2 m/s.

Note: The negative signs tells that the combined speed is in the direction of the second player.

Hence the combined speed of the two players = 2 m/s

(f) What do you mean by: (i) 1 J energy (ii) 1 W power
max2010maxim [7]

Explanation:

Watts are defined as 1 Watt = 1 Joule per second (1W = 1 J/s)

which means that 1 kW = 1000 J/s. A Watt is the amount of energy (in Joules) that an electrical device (such as a light) is burning per second that it's running.

What is photosynthesis
MA_775_DIABLO [31]

Answer:

The process

Explanation:

the process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods from carbon dioxide and water. Photosynthesis in plants generally involves the green pigment chlorophyll and generates oxygen as a byproduct.
