Answer:

The weight of object in alcohol is, W₀ = 9.6 N

Explanation:

Given,

The weight of body in air, Wₐ = 10 N

The weight of the body in water, Wₓ = 9.5 N

The density of the alcohol, ρ = 0.8 g/cm³

                                                = 800 kg/m³

The weight of body in water = weight of object in air - weight of water displaced

                        9.5 N = 10 N - weight of water displaced

                       Weight of water displaced = 0.5 N

The mass of the displaced water, m = 0.5 / 9.8

                                                            = 0.051 kg

Therefore the volume of the water displaced,

                                              V = m / ρ

                                                  = 0.051 / 1000

                                                   = 5.1 x 10⁻⁵ m³

The volume of water displaced is equal to the volume of alcohol displaced

Therefore, the mass of the alcohol displaced, = V x ρ

                                                                             = 5.1 x 10⁻⁵ x 800

                                                                             = 0.0405 kg

The weight of the alcohol displaced, w = 0.0405 x 9.8

                                                                    = 0.4 N

Therefore,

The weight of body in alcohol = weight of object in air - weight of alcohol displaced

                             W₀ = W - w

                                    = 10 N - 0.4 N

                                     = 9.6 N

Hence, the weight of object in alcohol is, W₀ = 9.6 N

Hemoglobin (Hb) is the O2-carrying protein in our blood. Unlike myoglobin, it has four sites allowing it to bind up to four O2 m
bogdanovich [222]

Answer:

Yes, the energy is not simply the sum of the individual binding energies at each site, it is the product of energy at each binding site of hemoglobin.

Explanation:

Myoglobin and hemoglobin are two different cells. Myoglobin binds only one oxygen while the hemoglobin has the ability to binds four oxygen atoms at its four sides. Myoglobin present in muscle tissue only while hemoglobin is present in the whole body. Oxyhemoglobin is formed when oxygen binds with hemoglobin cell. This oxygen is take to all cells and energy is released due to the breakdown of glucose molecules with this oxygen.

A 2.0kg rock is thrown straight up into the air with a speed of 30m/s. Ignore air resistance. What is the net force acting on th
bazaltina [42]

Answer:

19.6N

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Mass of rock = 2kg

Speed  = 30m/s

Unknown:

Net force on the rock = ?

Solution:

The net force acting on this rock is a function of the acceleration due to gravity acting upon it.

Net force = weight = mass x acceleration due to gravity

Net force  = 2 x 9.8  = 19.6N downward

A charge of 8.5 × 10–6 C is in an electric field that has a strength of 3.2 × 105 N/C. What is the electric force acting on the
Sonja [21]

2.72 N

Explanation:

Step 1:

From the basic formula in electrostatics

F = E * q

where F = Force due to charges

           E = Electric field strength

           q = Charge

Step 2:

From the given question

q= 8.5*10^{-6} C

E = 3.2 * 10^{5} N/C

F = 8.5 * 10^{-6} * 3.2 * 10^{5} = 2.72 N

An open cart is rolling to the left on a horizontal surface. A package slides down a chute and lands in the cart. Which quantity
Marat540 [252]

Answer: the horizontal component of total momentum

Explanation:

Since the open cart is rolling to the left on the horizontal surface, the quantity that has the same value just before and just after the package lands in the cart is the horizontal component of total momentum.

Momentum, is the product of the mass of a particle and the velocity of the particle. The change of momentum depends on the force which acts on it. The addition of the the individual momenta is the total momentum.
