Given data:

mass of the box (m) = 12 kg,

                            W = m.g

                                = 12 kg × 9.8 m/s²

                                 = 117.6 N

coefficient of static friction (μ) = 0.42,

determine the minimum force needed to set the box in motion(F) = ?

Important Point: The minimum force required to move a body is proportional to the weight of the body. Please find the attached figure.

                              F ∝ W

                              F = μ. W Newtons

                              μ = It is the constant proportionality also known as coefficient of static friction.

                  The normal reaction of the body R = W

                  Therefore,

                               F = μ . R Newtons

                   Where,

                              F = Minimum force required to move a body, N

                               F = 0.42 × 117.6

                                  = 49.39 N

<em>The minimum force is needed to move a body on flat floor is 49 N</em>

As we know that friction force on box is given by

F_s = \mu_s N

here we know that

N = mg

here we have

m = 12 kg

\mu_s = 0.42

so now we have

N = 12(9.8) = 117.6 N

now we will have

F_s = 0.42(12)(9.8)

F_s = 49.4 N

so it required minimum 49 N(approx) force to move the block

Which chemical reaction shows photosynthesis
djverab [1.8K]

Answer: Option (a) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Photosynthesis is defined as a chemical process in which plants tend to make their own food in the presence of sunlight, water and carbon dioxide.

During this process, product formed by the plants is glucose and oxygen.

The chemical reaction equation for photosynthesis is as follows.

      6CO_{2} + 6H_{2}O + \text{Sunlight} \rightarrow C_{6}H_{12}O_{6} + 6O_{2}

Therefore, we can conclude that out of the given options the correct equation is as follows.

              \text{water + carbon dioxide + sunlight} \rightarrow \text{oxygen + glucose}

What is the strength and direction of the electric field 3.560 cm?
Art [367]
Just treat the bead as a point charge.
E = kq/r^2, and E points away from the center of the sphere since the charge is positive.

Kinetic vs potential energy
antiseptic1488 [7]

Answer:

Kinetic energy is the energy obtained from movement while potential energy is the energy in something when it is at a height or has been manipulated in some way; it has work done to it.

Explanation:

Kinetic energy is, like I said, energy gained through movement or action. When an object stops moving, it converts into a different type of energy. Energy cannot be destroyed or created. An object with potential energy has a reference. A reference determines how high it is. The higher and heavier an object is, the more potential energy it has.

Hope this helps!

Concept Simulation 5.2 reviews the concepts that are involved in this problem. A car is safely negotiating an unbanked circular
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

v_W=9.23m/s

Explanation:

The force of friction change is the pavement is dry or wet so to determine the force of friction:

F=m*a

F_k=m*a_c

F_k=u_K*N

N=m*g

F_k=u_K*m*g=m*a_c

u_K*g=a_c

a_c=\frac{V^2}{R}

Dry pavement

u_{KD}*g=\frac{v_D^2}{R}

Wet pavement

u_{KW}*g=\frac{v_W^2}{R}

u_{KW}=\frac{1}{3}*u_{KD}

Solve and reduce the factor so:

\frac{v_W^2}{v_D^2}=\frac{\frac{1}{3}*u_{KD}}{u_{KD}}

v_W^2=v_D^2*\frac{1}{3}

v_W=v_D*\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}=16m/s*\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}

v_W=9.23m/s

What evidence suggests that the ""hole"" in the ozone layer is getting smaller?
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

NASA  sees direct proof for the hole in the ozone layer getting smaller .

Explanation:

According to an research in the year 2017 ' NASA confirmed that size of the ozone hole n September was smaller as it was in earlier three decades ago . They found that chlorine from chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) are reducing which results in the depletion of hole in the ozone layer.

Ozone layer plays an very important role in protecting life on earth from very dangerous rays which cause many deadly diseases and many other problems. Since  the world banding the substances which cause ozone depletion , scientists are thinking that by the year of 2070 the hole can recover its size level that it was in year of 1980.
