Answer:

The correct answer is vinegar and antacids.

Explanation:

An antacid is a substance, usually a base, that acts against acidity in an acid-base reaction.

The antacid alkalinizes the acid medium, increasing the pH. In this case, the vinegar has an acid pH, so the antacid would react with it by raising its pH, producing salts as a product of the reaction.

How is it that when a salt sample dissolves in water, the delta S for the process is positive?
Bess [88]

Answer:-

Water is highly ordered. In water each oxygen atom is connected to others around it through hydrogen bonding via bridging hydrogen atoms. When a salt like NaCl is dissolved, some of these Hydrogen bonds break.

When a salt like NaCl dissolves in water, the NaCl breaks in to ions Na+ and Cl-.

The water molecules now surround these ions.

The slightly negative oxygen end of water molecule gets near the Na+, while the slightly positive Hydrogen of water molecule gets near the Cl-.

So before salt sample dissolve, the water molecules were highly ordered due to hydrogen bonding. Now after salt dissolve there is a decrease in order and thus an increase in disorder of the water molecules.

Due to increase in disorder, entropy which is a measure of disorder increases. Since entropy increases, delta S for the process is positive.

Distillation is a method that depends on differences in the boiling points of liquids to separate the components of a liquid mix
ryzh [129]

Explanation:

for immiscible liquids it is quite easy to separate and the separating funnel can be used but for miscible liquid they form a single entity and separating them is quite impossible if the differences in temperature is not considered,so in distillation the one with lower boiling point evaporates out living behind the one with high boiling point

When carbon is burned in air, it reacts with oxygen to form carbon dioxide. When 15.6 g of carbon were burned in the presence of
NeX [460]

Answer: 5.72 g mass of carbon dioxide was produced

Explanation:

C+O_2\rightarrow CO_2

Moles of C =\frac{\text{mass of carbon}}{\text{molar mass of carbon}}=\frac{15.6 g}{12 g/mol}=1.3 moles

Mass of O_2 reacted = 59.1 g - 17.5 g = 41.6 g

Moles of O_2\text{ reacted}=\frac{\text{mass of}O_2}{\text{molar mass of}O_2}=\frac{41.6 g}{32 g/mol}=1.3 moles

According to reaction 1 mole O_2 produces 1 mole of CO_2 then 1.3 mole of O_2 will produce \frac{1}{1}\times 1.3 moles of CO_2

Mass of CO_2:

=Moles of CO_2 × molar mass ofCO_2 = 1.3 ×44 g/mol =

=57.2 grams

5.72 g mass of carbon dioxide was produced
