A pelican is sitting on its perch in the habit as ocean waves come splashing in. The crests is the waves drench the pelican as i

t collided with its perch. The drenching occurs every 1.40 seconds. The crest are positioned 9.8 meters apart. What is the period of the wave? What is the frequency of the wave? Determine the speed of the Wave?

The frequency of the wave is 0.714 H Z and the speed of the wave is 7 m/s.

Explanation:

To find the frequency of the wave,

From the given data, we can find the frequency and speed of the wave.

The drenching occurs at every 1.40 seconds

   T = 1.40 seconds

To find frequency the formula used is

 F = T⁻¹

    = 1.4 ⁻¹

F = 0.714 HZ

To find speed, the formula used is

V = λ/ T

    = \frac{9.8}{1.4}

V = 7 m/s.

Thus, The frequency of the wave is 0.714 H Z and the speed of the wave is 7 m/s.

A foot player runs 1.6m/s and has a KE of 790 J. What is his mass?
Mariana [72]
The equation for kinetic energy is,

Ke = (1/2)mv^2.

You're given a kinetic energy of 790 joules, and a speed of 1.6 m/s. Plugging these values into the equation, we get,

790 = (1/2)(1.6)^2(m).

Solving for m, we get,

m = (790)/(0.5(1.6)^2).

I'll let you crunch out those numbers for yourself :D

What are the different types of Energy transformations and Energy Transfers?
Harman [31]

Explanation:

Here are some of the ways that energy can change (transform) from one type to another:

The Sun transforms nuclear energy into heat and light energy.

Our bodies convert chemical energy in our food into mechanical energy for us to move.

An electric fan transforms electrical energy into kinetic energy.

What is the direction of the magnetic field if an electron moving in the positive x direction experiences a magnetic force in th
Alex787 [66]

Given :

An electron moving in the positive x direction experiences a magnetic force in the positive z direction.

To Find :

The direction of the magnetic field.

Solution :

We know, force is given by :

\vec{F}=q(\vec{v}\times \vec{B)}

Here, q = -e.

\vec{F}=(-e)(\vec{v}\times \vec{B)}\\\\\hat{k}=(-e)(\hat{i}\times \vec{B})

Now, for above condition to satisfy :

\hat{i}\times \vec{B}=-\hat{k}

So, \vec{B}=-\hat{j}

Therefore, direction of magnetic field is negative y direction.

Hence, this is the required solution.
