Write a hypothesis for Part II of the lab, which is about the relationship described by F = ma. In the lab, you will use a toy c

ar and apply forces to it. Use the format of "if . . . then . . . because . . .” and be sure to answer the lesson question "How can Newton's laws be experimentally verified?” specific to Newton’s second law.

Sample Response: If force is applied to a car, then its acceleration will change proportionally, as predicted by Newton’s second law, F = ma.

Answer:

F=ma is the relationship where, F is force, m is mass and a is acceleration.

Newton's second law states that  the unbalanced force applied to the object accelerates the object which is directly proportional to the force and inversely to the mass.

If we apply force to a toy car then It will accelerate.

This is how Newton's second law of motion is verified.

Nerve signals in the body occur when a small voltage, called an action potential, is applied across the membrane of a cell. When
nasty-shy [4]

Answer:  23.56 nV

Explanation:

Assuming that we apply Ohm's Law to this situation, we know that under this condition, the current resultant, is proportional to the voltage applied, and that the proportionality constant, is called the resistance.

Now, we define electric current, as the passage of a number of charges over time.

In this case, we can say that each singly-ionized potassium ion carries the charge equivalent to the one electron, which is q = 1.6. 10⁻¹⁹ coulombs.

So, as we have 90,000 ions, we will have a total charge as follows:

Q =90.10³. 1.6.10⁻¹⁹ coulombs

Also, we are told that this charge will be moving for 1.1 msec, so we can find the current I as follows:

I = Q/t ⇒ I = 13.09. 10⁻¹² A.

If we know that R= 1.8.10⁹ Ω, we can determine V, applying Ohm's Law, as follows:

V = 13.09. 10⁻¹² A .  1.8.10⁹ Ω = 23.56 nV

A ceiling fan with 90-cm-diameter blades is turning at 64 rpm . Suppose the fan coasts to a stop 28 s after being turned off. Wh
mixas84 [53]

Answer:

the speed of the tip of a blade 10 s after the fan is turned off is 16.889 m/s.

Explanation:

Given;

diameter of the ceiling fan, d = 90 cm = 0.9 m

angular speed of the fan, ω = 64 rpm

time taken for the fan to stop, t = 28 s

The distance traveled by the ceiling fan when it comes to a stop is calculated as;

d = vt = \omega r\times  t= ( \frac{64 \ rev}{\min} \times \frac{2 \pi \ rad}{rev} \times \frac{1 \min}{60 \ s} \times 0.9 \ m) \times 28 \ s\\\\d = 168.89 \ m

The speed of the tip of a blade 10 s after the fan is turned off is calculated as;

v = \frac{d}{t} \\\\v = \frac{168.89}{10} \\\\v = 16.889 \ m/s

Therefore, the speed of the tip of a blade 10 s after the fan is turned off is 16.889 m/s.

The greenhouse effect is a warming effect caused by certain gases that retain heat from sunlight. Without such gases, the average surface temperature of the Earth would be below freezing, and as explained by the Encyclopedia of Environmental Science, “life, as we know it, would not exist.”

 The global warming debate is centered upon whether added greenhouse gases released by human activity will overheat the Earth and cause harmful effects.</span><span>

A person kicks a 4.0-kilogram door with a 48-newton force causing the door to accelerate at 12 meters per second squared. What i
inna [77]

Answer:

-48 N

Explanation:

mass of door (m) = 4 kg

acceleration of the door = 12 m/s^{2}

force exerted by the person = 48 N

From Newton's third law of motion, action and reaction are equal but opposite. Therefore the force exerted on the door by the person which is 48 N will be the same as the force exerted on the person by the door but opposite in its direction, and this would be - 48 N
