1. MgBr2

Soluble.

Rule: all the binary compounds of the group 17 (different to F) with metals are solubles, except those formed with Ag, Hg (I) and Pb.

2. PbI2

Insoluble.

Rule: it is one of the exceptions stated in the rule above.

3. (NH4)2CO3

Soluble.

Rule: salts containing NH4(+) are soluble.

4. ZnSO4

Soluble

Rule: This salt is not an exception to the rule that most sulfate salts are soluble. Important exceptions to this rule include BaSO4, PbSO4, Ag2SO4 and SrSO4

5. Sr(OH)2

Soluble (slightly soluble).

Rule: Hydroxide salts of Group II elements (Ca, Sr, and Ba) are slightly soluble

MgBr2 is soluble in water; lead iodide (PbI2) is soluble in hot water, (NH4)2CO3 is soluble in water, anhydrous ZnSO4 is soluble in water.

Further explanation:

MgBr2

MgBr2 is a chemical compound which is soluble in water. Its solubility is 102g/100mL in water. It is also soluble in ethanol or methanol, Sr(OH)2 is soluble in cold water slowly.

Lead iodide (PbI2)

Lead iodide (PbI2) is a salt. It is insoluble in cold water and it has more density as compare to water. Its solubility increases with an increase in temperature. While it is not soluble in ethanol and HCl(cold).

Ammonium carbonate (NH4)2CO3

It is salt which is readily converted to gaseous ammonia and CO2 on heating. It is soluble in water but decomposes in hot water.

Zinc Sulfate ZnSO4

Zinc sulfate in form of hexahydrate, ZnSO4.6H2O, and heptahydrate ZnSO4.7H2O are soluble in water. Its solubility is 57.7g/100g at room temperature. Its solubility increases with an increase in the temperature. It is also not soluble in ethanol.

Strontium hydroxide Sr(OH)2

It is an alkali. It is slightly soluble in cold water. It is also soluble in acid. It is not soluble in acetone. With an increase in temperature its solubility also increases in water.

A TV has a standby current of 0.05 amperes. The voltage going through the TV is 120 volts. Determine the power consumption while
mixer [17]

Answer:

6 Watts

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Current (I) = 0.05 A

Voltage (V) = 120 V

Power (P) =?

Electrical power is defined by the following equation

The power consumption while the TV is in standby can be obtained as follow:

Power (P) = Current (I) × Voltage (V)

P = IV

With the above formula, we can obtain the power consumption while the TV is in standby. This can be obtained as follow:

Current (I) = 0.05 A

Voltage (V) = 120 V

Power (P) =?

P = IV

P = 0.05 × 120

P = 6 Watts

Therefore, the power consumption while the TV is in standby is 6 Watts.

What is the relationship between pH, acidity, and H1 concentration ?
irina [24]
PH = - log [concentration of H+]

pH = - log [H+]

pH IS A MEAUSE OF ACIDITY AND BASIDITY OF A SUBSTANCE....

AS ACIDITY OF A SUBSTANCE DEPENDS ON THE IONISATION OF H+
THEREFORE IT IS A MEAUSE...

THE LOWER THE PH VALUE, THE MORE ACIDIC IS THE SUBSTANCE
