Answer:

a)  the speed of the two bodies increases as they descend v=√2gy

b) the speed decreases with the time   v= v₀ - gt

c)  g = G Me/Re² = 9.80 m/s²

d) the acceleration of gravity and is a vector directed towards the center of the Earth

Explanation:

The interaction between bodies and Earth is reflected in the acceleration that bodies acquire in their descent, which is described by the law of universal gravitation as the force in Newton's second law

            F = G m Me / r²

            F = m a

where m is the mass of the body, Me is the mass of the Earth and r is the distance between them, we substitute

            G Me / r² = a

This value of acceleration is called the acceleration due to gravity (a = g) and it is the acceleration that bodies acquire near the Earth.

a) To find the speed of the bodies we can use the kinematic relations

   v² = v₀² + 2 gy

suppose bodies start from rest

     v= √2 gy

therefore we see that the speed of the two bodies increases as they descend, in the same proportion, except for the effect of the air resistance force that is more important for the lighter bodies.

b) in the case of being launched, the speed decreases with the time

          v = v₀ - g t

the decrease is the same for both bodies

c) the acceleration for the two bodies has the same value and is the so-called acceleration of gravity

        g = G Me /Re² ( 1+ y/Re)2

Re >>h

         g = G Me/Re² = 9.80 m/s²

d) this acceleration is called the acceleration of gravity and is a vector directed towards the center of the Earth

A 40kg dog is sitting on top of a hillside and has a potential energy of 1,568 J. What is the height of the hill side?
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer:

<h2>39.2 m</h2>

Explanation:

The height of the hill side can be found by using the formula

h =  \frac{p}{m}  \\

p is the potential energy

m is the mass

From the question we have

h =  \frac{1568}{40}  =  \frac{196}{5}  \\

We have the final answer as

<h3>39.2 m</h3>

Hope this helps you

The North American Plate is moving west at a rate of approximately 20 mm/yr. How long will it take for New York to move 10° long
scZoUnD [109]

Answer:

55000000 years

Explanation:

Rate of North American Plate moving (Velocity) = 20 mm/yr

Degrees New York has to move = 10° west

New York's longitude = 110 km/°

Distance of New York = 110×10 = 1100 km

= 1100×10⁶ mm

\text {Time taken by the continental plate}=\frac {\text {Distance of New York}}{\text {Rate of North American Plate moving (Velocity)}}\\\Rightarrow \text {Time taken by the continental plate}=\frac{1100\times 10^6}{20}\\\Rightarrow \text {Time taken by the continental plate}=55\times 10^6\ years

∴ Time taken by New York to move 10° west is 55000000 years

Why freezer is made in the upper part of refrigrator
svp [43]
<h2>Question</h2>

why freezer is made in the upper part of refrigrator

<h2>✒ Answer</h2>

the cold air produced from it is denser than the warmer air in the bottom

<h3>Explaination</h3>

Freezer is normally provided at the top of the refrigerator, because density of the cold air is high compared to the hot air. In a refrigerator the air contacts with the cooling coil and gets cooling.Because of the high density the cold air gets down and the warm air/hot air moves upward and gets cooling from the cooling coil/evaporator coil. This process is repeated. If the Freezer is provided at the bottom place of the refrigerator, the cold air can't to move full area of the refrigerator. So the freezer is normally provided at the top at the refrigerator
