Answer:

11.3 g of H₂O will be produced.

Explanation:

The combustion is:

2C₈H₁₈ +  25O₂→  16CO₂  +  18H₂O

First of all, we determine the moles of the reactants in order to find out the limiting reactant.

8 g / 114g/mol = 0.0701 moles of octane

37g / 32 g/mol = 1.15 moles of oxygen

The limiting reagent is the octane. Let's see it by this rule of three:

25 moles of oxygen react to 2 moles of octane so

1.15 moles of oxygen will react to ( 1.15 . 2)/ 25 = 0.092 moles of octane.

We do not have enough octane, we need 0.092 moles and we have 0.0701 moles. Now we work with the stoichiometry of the reaction so we make this rule of three:

2 moles of octane produce 18 moles of water

Then 0.0701 moles of octane may produce (0.0701 . 18)/2= 0.631 moles of water.

We convert the moles to mass → 0.631 mol . 18 g/1mol = 11.3 g of H₂O will be produced.

Reil [10]

Answer:

a. What is the wavelength?

The wavelength is 5 meters.

b. What is the frequency?

The frequency is 0.05Hz

c. What is the wave velocity?

The wave velocity is 0.25 meters per second

Explanation:

the wavelength is the distance between two troughs or two crests, which in this case is 5 meters.

the frequency=cycles/time. For this equation the equation would be 1/20, which is 0.05

the wave velocity=wavelength x frequency. Plug in the numbers, 5 x 0.05, and you will get 0.25.

Identify the independent and dependent variables. Peter is conducting an experiment to see how much salt will dissolve in water
Vlad1618 [11]
Temperature is independent and the amount of salt dissolving in water is dependant. This is because the amount of salt dissolving depends on how low or high the water temperature is

At 500 degree C, F_2 gas is stable and does not dissociate, but at 840 degree C, some dissociation occurs: F_2 (g) 2 F(g). A fla
bazaltina [42]

Answer:

2.73 is the equilibrium constant for the dissociation of F_2 gas at 840 degree Celsius.

Explanation:

F_2(g)\rightleftharpoons 2F(g)

Initial

0.600 atm    0

Equilibrium

(0.600 atm - p)        2p

Total pressure at equilibrium = P = 0.984 atm

P= 0.600 atm - p)+2p=0.984 atm

p = 0.384 atm

Partial pressure of the F_2 gas , p_{f_2}= (0.600 atm - 0.384 atm)=0.216 atm

Partial pressure of the F gas, p_{f} = 2(0.384 atm)=0.768 atm

K_p=\frac{(p_{F})^2}{p_{F_2}}

K_p=\frac{(0.768 atm)^2}{0.216 atm}=2.73

2.73 is the equilibrium constant for the dissociation of F_2 gas at 840 degree Celsius.
