Answer:

The focal length of this lens is f = 0.55 D

Explanation:

Given that the far point of an eye ( d )=  180 cm = 1.8 m

We know that focal length of lens is given by

f = \frac{1}{d}

Put the value of d in above equation we get

f = \frac{1}{1.8} \ m^{-1}

f = 0.55 D

Therefore the focal length of this lens is f = 0.55 D

How long must a simple pendulum be if it is to make exactly one swing per second? (That is, one complete vibration takes exactly
umka2103 [35]

Oscillation is a type of periodic motion which repeats itself to and from about a point which is called mean position. The period of a Pendulum can be described as a ratio between the length and gravity as,

T = 2\pi \sqrt{\frac{L}{g}}

Here,

L = length

g = Gravity

If we rearrange  to find the length we have that,

L = \frac{T^2g}{4\pi^2}

Our period is 2s and the gravity is 9.8m/s^2, then,

L = \frac{(2)^2(9.8)}{4\pi^2}

L = 0.9929m

The simple required length of the pendulum must be 0.9929m

Answer:

(E) Second law of thermodynamics

Explanation:

The second law of thermodynamics can be understood according to Clausius' words: In an isolated system, no process can occur if a decrease in the total entropy of the system is associated with it. These processes are associated with energy transformations, in which a variable is introduced, called entropy that indicates the notion of disorder. Therefore, in any isolated process, the disorder can only grow.
