A friend says that the reason one's hair stands out while touching a charged Van de Graaff generator is simply that the hair str
Llana [10]

Answer:

Explanation:

Yes I agree with the statement .

When a person who is perfectly insulated from the earth , touches a Van de Graaff , his body acquires charge . when the hair acquires it, it stands out due to mutual repulsion . It is to be noted here that at pointed areas on a surface , there is larger accumulation of charge. Accumulation of charge is greater at hair tops .

It is also a general observation that when a bird sits on high tension wire , his feather stands out due to the same reason.

A ball dropped onto a trampoline returns to the same height after the rebound.
Jet001 [13]

a)The ball's potential energy changes as it moves from the release point to the top of the rebound.

b)The ball's potential energy is at its highest and rests when it is in the top position.

What is potential energy?

The potential energy is due to the virtue of the position and the height. The unit for the potential energy is the joule.

The potential energy is mainly dependent upon the height of the object.

Potential energy = mgh

The kinetic energy of the body is due to the virtue of motion.

According to the Law of Conservation of Energy, energy can neither be created nor destroyed but can be transferred from one form to another.

The total energy is the sum of all the energies present in the system. The potential energy in a system is due to its position in the system.

A ball dropped onto a trampoline returns to the same height after the rebound.

Hence, the ball's potential energy changes as it moves from the release point to the top of the rebound. When the ball is at the top position the potential energy is maximum and the ball is at rest.

Cheryl is riding on the edge of a merry-go-round, 2m from the center, which is rotating with an increasing angular speed. Cheryl
WINSTONCH [101]

In circular motion we know that there is two type of acceleration that Cheryl experience

1. Tangential acceleration

2. Centripetal acceleration

here given that

a_t = 3 m/s^2

for centripetal acceleration we know that

a_c = \frac{v^2}{R}

a_c = \frac{4^2}{2} = 8 m/s^2

now we know that both centripetal acceleration and tangential acceleration is perpendicular to each other

so total acceleration is vector sum of both and given as

a_{net} = \sqrt{8^2 + 3^2} = 8.54 m/s^2

so total acceleration is 8.54 m/s^2

Suppose you lift a 300N object 5m from the floor. How much work did you do on the
object?
Mandarinka [93]

Answer:

W= 1500J

Explanation:

Formula: W=f*d

What are your values?

W- ?

F- 300N

D- 5m

Plug in the values.

W= (300N)(5m)

W= 1500J

hope this helps!!
