Tarzan, in one tree, sights Jane in another tree. He grabs the end of a vine with length 20 m that makes an angle of 45 degrees

with the vertical, steps off his tree limb, and swings down and then up to Jane's open arms. When he arrives, his vine makes an angle of 30 degrees with the vertical. Calculate Tarzan's speed just before he reaches Jane. You can ignore air resistance and the mass of the vine.

Answer:

v = 7.9 m/s

Explanation:

length of the vine (L) = 20 m

initial angle with the vertical = 45 degrees

final angle with the vertical = 30 degrees

acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8 m/s^{2}

speed (v) =?

to solve this problem we can apply the equation below:

loss in potential energy = gain in kinetic energy

m x g x h = 1/2 x m x v^{2}

v = \sqrt{2gh}

before we can apply the above we need to get our height

height = initial vertical height - final vertical height

height = (L - L cosθ2) -  (L - L cosθ1)

height = (20 - 20cos45) - (20 - 20cos30) = 3.2 m

v = \sqrt{2 x 9.8 x 3.2}

v = 7.9 m/s

The position of a particle is given by ~r(t) = (3.0 t2 ˆi + 5.0 ˆj j 6.0 t kˆ) m
Julli [10]

Answer:

v=(6ti+6k)\ m/s

Explanation:

Given that,

The position of a particle is given by :

r(t) = (3.0 t^2 i + 5.0j+ 6.0 tk) m

Let us assume we need to find its velocity.

We know that,

v=\dfrac{dr}{dt}\\\\=\dfrac{d}{dt}(3.0 t^2 i + 5.0j+ 6.0 tk) \\\\=(6ti+6k)\ m/s

So, the velocity of the particle is (6ti+6k)\ m/s.

Which equation can be used to model simple harmonic motion
mixer [17]

Answer:x(t)= Acos(wt)

Explanation:

According to Newton's 2nd law,a particle of mass m acted on by a force is given by:Fs=-kx

Where x is displacement from equilibrium

K = spring constant

Therefore X(t) = Acos(2pit/T)

X(t)= Acos(wt)

What body systems help these cells get the energy they need?
MakcuM [25]

The body systems that help cells get the energy they need are the digestive system and circulatory system. The first system is the digestive system because when you eat food, your body breaks it down using the stomach and other different parts of the digestive system.  The next one is the circulatory system because your blood carries the nutrients you acquired from food you digested to the cells throughout your body.

At what point in its motion is the KE of a pendulum bob a maximum? 1. The KE does not change. 2. at the lowest point 3. at the h
Andrew [12]

Answer:

2. at the lowest point

Explanation:

The motion of the pendulum is a continuous conversion between kinetic energy (KE) and gravitational potential energy (GPE). This is because the mechanical energy of the pendulum, which is sum of KE and GPE, is constant:

E = KE + GPE = const.

Therefore, when KE is maximum, GPE is minimum, and viceversa.

So, the point of the motion where the KE is maximum is where the GPE is minimum: and since the GPE is directly proportional to the heigth of the bob:

GPE=mgh

we see that GPE is minimum when the bob is at the lowest point,so the correct answer is

2. at the lowest point
