Answer:

When conducting research, scientists use the scientific method to collect measurable, empirical evidence in an experiment related to a hypothesis (often in the form of an if/then statement), the results aiming to support or contradict a theory.

A 10 kg gun recoils with a speed of 0.1 m/s after it fires a 0.001 kg bullet. What is the speed of the bullet?
Kitty [74]

As we know that here gun + bullet system is isolated from all other external force system

so here the momentum of system is always conserved

so we will say

m_1v_{1i} + m_2v_{2i} = m_1v_{1f} + m_2v_{2f}

here we know that

v_{1i} = v_{2i} = 0

m_1 = 10 kg

m_2 = 0.001kg

v_{1f} = 0.1 m/s

now we will have

0 + 0 = 10(0.1) + 0.001v_{2f}

by solving above equation we will have

v_{2f} = 1000 m/s

A sled of mass 80 kg starts from rest and slides down an 18° incline 90 m long. It then travels for 20 m horizontally before sta
yaroslaw [1]

Answer:

net work done by friction = - 2205 J

Explanation:

given,

mass of sled = 80 kg

slide down at an angle of 18°

length = 90 m

travel horizontally = 20 m before  starting back up a 16° incline.

net work = ?

h_i = initial\ height

h_i = L_i Sin 18^0

h_i = 90 sin 18^0

h_i = 27.81\ m

h_f = Final\ height

h_f = L_f Sin 16^0

h_f = 90 sin 16^0

h_f =24.81\ m

net work done by friction = change in potential energy

                                          = mg (h_f - h_i)

                                          = (75) (9.8) (- 27.81 + 24.81)

net work done by friction = - 2205 J

Describe the process of star formation
inysia [295]

Answer:

Explanation:

1. Gravity condenses a dense cloud (nebulae) of gas (there is nothing to fight gravity at this point)

2. As density increases, pressure increases, pushing against gravity

3. As pressure rises, temp rises and if temp gets hot enough (if mass large enough) nuclear reactions wills start.
