Distinguish between thermal energy, temperature, and heat. (BE SPECIFIC & use physics vocabulary)
xz_007 [3.2K]

Thermal energy can be defined as specific thermodynamic quantities as a part of energy transfer such as heat, which is a form of thermal energy flowing from hotter to colder objects. Temperature is a physical property of an object which specify whether the subject is hot or cold.

Explanation:

Difference between thermal energy, temperature and heat

Thermal Energy

Thermal energy is the total kinetic energy of molecules bundled up in the object. This energy is the heat exerted by the object which forms its temperature.

Temperature

In technical terms, temperature is the average kinetic energies measurement of molecules and atoms, present in an object. Simply, we can say, temperature defines how hot or how cold is a substance. Temperature relies on the kinetic energy of particles.

Heat

Transfer of thermal energy from a hotter to colder objects. Heat is different from temperature. Temperature is the mark to define how hot a substance is whereas, heat is the flow of thermal energy.

How much force must be applied on a blade of length 4cm and thickness of 0.1mm to exert a pressure of 4000000pa?
Viktor [21]

Answer:

F= 403429 kpa

Explanation:

Pressure is the product of force and area

Mathematically,

P=F*A -------where F is force and A is area.

A= 40 *0.1 = 4mm² -----convert to m²

A= 4e⁻⁶ m²

P= 4000000 pa

F= P/A = 4000000/4e⁻⁶

F= 403428793.493 pa

F= 403429 kpa

What is difference between non uniform and uniform circular motion?
statuscvo [17]

Answer:

The object in a uniform motion covers same distances in an equal time period. Objects in a non-uniform motion cover dissimilar distances in an equal time period.

Explanation:

The speed of the object traveling in uniform motion is constant, the actual speed and the average speed of the moving body is same.

For a vertical spring-mass oscillator that is moving up and down, which of the following statements are true? (more than one sta
omeli [17]

Answer:

At the lowest point in the oscillation, the momentum is zero.

At the lowest point in the oscillation, mg < ks_s

Explanation:

Since spring block system is performing to and fro motion along straight line

So here we can say at the lowest position of its path the velocity will become zero.

So we can say that momentum of the spring block system is given as

P = mv

P = 0

Also we know that after reaching the lowest point the block will again go up towards its mean position

So at the lowest point of the spring block system the block will move upwards again

So this will accelerate upwards hence

F_{spring} > mg

Ks > mg

What will occur when the waves peak at the same place at the same time?
dedylja [7]
Hello!

This is a matter of superposition.
When the waves peak at the same time and place, they produce constructive interference, meaning the waves interact together in a positive way, to make a wave with Amplitude of both waves added together. When the peaks differ however, at the same time and place, then it is destructive interference and the waves essentially cancel each other out.

Hope this helps. Any questions please just ask. Thank you kindly.
