A china dish falls from a height of 1.5 m above the floor. Calculate its velocity just before it

Physics

Answer:

12m/s

Explanation:

v^2=u^2+2as

v=?

u=0 (the dish was stationary before it fell)

a=9.81 m/s^2 (acceleration due to gravity/freefall)

s=1.5m (the drop height)

So: v^2=0+2.9.81.1.5 = 144.35415

and therefore v=sqrt 144.35415

12x12=144 so I'd say v=12m/s

VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

\boxed {3.43 x 10^{3}}

Explanation:

We know that speed is defined as distance moved per unit time hence expressed as v=\frac {d}{t} where v is speed in m/s, d is distance in m and t is time in seconds. Making d the subject of the above formula then

d=vt

Substituting 343 m/s for d and 10 s for t then

d= 343\times10= 3430= 3.43 x 10^{3}

Therefore, the distance between speaker and deter is \boxed {3.43 x 10^{3}}

Which statement about electrons and atomic orbitals is NOT true?
balandron [24]

An electron has the same amount of energy in all orbitals is not true

\boxed{\boxed{\bold{Further~explanation}}}

In an atom there are levels of energy in the skin and sub skin.

 • This energy level is expressed in the form of electron configurations.

Writing electron configurations starts from the lowest to the highest sub-shell energy level.

So electrons that occupy the orbitals in the lowest sub-skin have the lowest energy level

 • In the principle of Pauli's prohibition it was stated that there are no two electrons in one atom that can have the same four quantum numbers.

So suppose that there are two electrons occupying one orbital can have the same main quantum number (n), azimuth (l) and magnetic (m), then the last quantum number that is the quantum spin number (s) must be different.

So that the two electrons are different from just the quantum spin number, even though the other quantum numbers are the same.

So in one orbital only a maximum of 2 electrons is occupied, because if there is a third electron, this third electron will have the same quantum spin number as the previous electron

 • The electron cloud is a visual representation of the location of electrons in an atom.

Orbital is the place around the nucleus where electrons may be found

Electron clouds show the state of electrons in their orbitals

So electron clouds can show the condition of all orbitals in an atom

The lowest energy level of an electron occupies a sub-skin of 1s which has only one orbital

Charging electrons in the sub skin uses the following sequence:

1s², 2s², 2p⁶, 3s², 3p⁶, 4s², 3d¹⁰, 4p⁶, 5s², 4d¹⁰, 5p⁶, 6s², etc.

Statement about electrons and atomic orbitals is not true is An electron has the same amount of energy in all orbitals

The iron-rich core of the Moon is thought to be about how many kilometers in diameter?
natka813 [3]
The moon is thought to have an iron-rich core whose radius
is 330 km, plus or minus an uncertainty of 20 km.

That puts its diameter in the range of 620 km to 700 km.

A kid throws a ball from a tower 45 meters tall how fast is the ball going when it hits the ground?
IRISSAK [1]

Answer:

29.69 m/s

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Height (h) = 45 m

Velocity (v) =...?

Next, we shall determine the time taken for the ball to get to the ground. This can be obtained as follow:

Height (h) = 45 m

Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8 m/s²

Time (t) =?

h = ½gt²

45 = ½ × 9.8 × t²

45 = 4.9 × t²

Divide both side by 4.9

t² = 45/4.9

Take the square root of both side

t = √(45/4.9)

t = 3.03 s

Finally, we shall determine the velocity with which the ball hits the ground. This is illustrated below:

Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s

Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8 m/s²

Time (t) = 3.03 s

Final velocity (v) =.?

v = u + gt

v = 0 + (9.8 × 3.03)

v = 0 + 29.694

v = 29.694 ≈ 29.69 m/s

Therefore, the ball hits the ground with a velocity of 29.69 m/s.
