Sodium reacts with chlorine gas according to the following reaction: 2Na(s)+Cl2(g)→2NaCl(s) What volume of Cl2 gas, measured at
asambeis [7]

Answer:6.719Litres of Cl2 gas.

Explanation:According to eqn of rxn

2Na +Cl2=2NaCl

P=689torr=689/760=0.91atm

T=39°C+273=312K

according to stoichiometry of the reaction,1Moles of Cl2 gives 2moles of NaCl

But 28g of NaCl was given,we have to convert this to moles by using the relation, n=mass/MW

MW of NaCl=23+35.5=58.5g/mol

n=28g(mass given of NaCl)/58.5

n=0.479moles of NaCl

Going back to the reaction,

if 1moles of Cl2 produces 2moles of NaCl

x moles of Cl2 will give 0.479moles of NaCl.

x=0.479*1/2

x=0.239moles of Cl2.

To find the volume, we use ideal ggas eqn,PV=nRT

V=nRT/P

V=0.239*0.082*312/0.91

V=6.719Litres

Which statements about oxygen and nitrogen are true? Select all the correct answers. a. They are both normally found as gases in
allsm [11]

a. They are both normally found as gases in the atmosphere.  TRUE

That is correct, the oxygen and nitrogen are found in large quantities in the air around us.

b. They can be either liquids or gases. TRUE

Under certain temperatures any gas will transform into a liquid.

c.They turn from gas to liquid at the same temperature. FALSE

Oxygen it will pass into a liquid at -183 °C while nitrogen pass into a liquid at -195.8 °C.

d.They can be changed from gases to liquids by heating them. FALSE

The gases change to liquids by cooling them.

Calculate the theoretical yield of ammonia produced by the reaction of 100 g of H2 gas and 200g of N2 gas? 3H2(g) + N2(g)-----&g
Alex787 [66]
Moles of Hydrogen present: 100 / 2 = 50 moles

Moles of Nitrogen present: 200 / 28 = 7.14 moles

Hydrogen required by given amount of nitrogen = 7.14 x 3 = 21.42 moles

Hydrogen is excess so we will calculate the Ammonia produced using Nitrogen.

Molar ratio of Nitrogen : Ammonia = 1 : 2

Moles of ammonia = 7.14 x 2 = 14.28 moles

How would a flood be a limitation for synthetic polymers that rely on natural rubber in its production?
Zepler [3.9K]
A flood, if it hits the environment of the natural rubbers, would destroy how the rubber is being produced. to have a large amount of limitation, the flood would destroy a large percentage of rubber trees. This natural rubber is needed to make synthetic polymers. Without the rubber (because of damages to it's ecosystem through the flood), there would be a limited supply, and a substancial drop on synthetic polymers.

hope this helps
