Answer:

a)  T = -22796.5 N,  b)  F = 3000 N

Explanation:

a) For this part we use Newton's second law

Let's set a reference frame with the x-axis in the direction of motion and the y-axis in the vertical direction.

We make a free-body diagram for each body,

the tractor has the bar force (T) and the push force (F) and the friction force (fr₁)

Y axis

        N₁ -W₁ = 0

        N₁ = M₁ g

X axis

        F - T - fr₁ = M₁ a

the Trailer has the bar force (T) and the friction force (fr₂)

Y axis

      N₂ - W₂ = 0

      N₂ = m₂ g

X axis

     T - fr₂ = m₂ a

let's write the system of equations

      F - T - fr₁ = M₁ a          (1)

           T - fr₂ = m₂ a

we solve

       F - (fr₁ + fr₂) = (M₁ + m₂) a

indicate that the total friction forces are fr = 3000N

       fr = fr₁ + fr₂

        F =\frac{(M_1+m_2) a}{fr}

let's calculate

        F =\frac{(2000+1500) \ 3}{3000}

        F = 3.5 N

The friction force is

       fr = μ N

the norm of the system is N = N₁ + N₂

       μ = \frac{fr}{N_1 + N_2}

       μ = \frac{3000}{2000+1500}

       μ = 0.858

with this value we can find the friction force 1 and substitute in equation 1

       F - T - μ N₁ = M₁ a

       T = F - M₁ (a + μ g)

        T = 3.5 - 2000 (3 + 0.858  9.8)

        T = -22796.5 N

b) when the system moves with constant velocity the acceleration is zero

            F - T - fr₁ = 0

                  T - fr₂ = 0

we solve

           F + (fr₁ + fr₂) = 0

           F = fr₁ + fr₂

           F = 3000 N

Calculate the lowest energy (in ev) for an electron in an infinite well having a width of 0.050 mm.
MA_775_DIABLO [31]

The lowest energy of electron in an infinite well is 1.2*10^-33J.

To find the answer, we have to know more about the infinite well.

<h3>What is the lowest energy of electron in an infinite well?</h3>
  • It is given that, the infinite well having a width of 0.050 mm.
  • We have the expression for energy of electron in an infinite well as,

                  E_n=\frac{n^2h^2}{8mL^2}

  • where;

                m=9.1*10^{-31}kg\\L=0.050*10^{-3}m\\h=6.63*10^{-34}Js\\n=1

  • Thus, the lowest energy of electron in an infinite well is,

                E_1=\frac{(6.63*10^{-34})^2}{8*9.1*10^{-31}*(0.050*10^{-3})}=1.2*10^{-33}J

Thus, we can conclude that, the lowest energy of electron in an infinite well is 1.2*10^-33J.

How are gravity and electromagnetic force similar and different?
oksano4ka [1.4K]

Answer:

The biggest difference is that gravity is an attractive force while electromagnetism is both an attractive and repelling force. Gravity happens between two objects depending on their masses, while electromagnetism is dependent on the objects' electric charges and the distance between them.

The transverse standing wave on a string fixed at both ends is vibrating at its fundamental frequency of 250 Hz. What would be t
hodyreva [135]

Answer:

Explanation:

fundamental frequency, f = 250 Hz

Let T be the tension in the string and length of the string is l ans m be the mass of the string initially.

the formula for the frequency is given by

f=\frac{1}{2l}\sqrt{\frac{Tl}{m}}    .... (1)

Now the length is doubled ans the tension is four times but the mass remains same.

let the frequency is f'

f'=\frac{1}{2\times 2l}\sqrt{\frac{4T\times 2l}{m}}    .... (2)

Divide equation (2) by equation (1)

f' = √2 x f

f' = 1.414 x 250

f' = 353.5 Hz
