What causes hurricanes in the northern hemisphere to roster counterclockwise ?
Andrew [12]

Answer: The answer is D.

Explanation:

As the air rushes toward the center, it winds up moving in a curved path thanks to the Coriolis effect. This creates a circular spinning pattern as air travels from areas of high pressure to low pressure. That's why hurricanes originating in the northern hemisphere rotate counterclockwise.

Hope this helps!

For a molecule of fluorous acid, the atoms are arranged as HOFO. (Note: In this oxyacid, the placement of fluorine is an excepti
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

0,0,0,0

Explanation:

The formal charge formula:

Formal charge= Valence electrons - lone pair electrons - 0.5 shared electrons

So:

Hydrogen: 1 elec. of valence and shares two electrons with the O

Formal charge= 1 - 0 - 0.5*2=0

Oxygen: 6 elec. of valence, 2 lone pairs and shares two electrons with the H and two with the F

Formal charge= 6 - 4 - 0.5*4=0

Fluorine: 7 elec. of valence, 6 lone pairs and shares two electrons with the O

Formal charge= 7 - 6 - 0.5*2=0

Oxygen: 6 elec. of valence, 3 lone pairs

Formal charge= 6 - 6 - 0.5*0=0

Note: the dative bond between F and the second O doesn't count as shared electrons.

Why does water with salt in it freeze much more slower than water without it ? Explain
serg [7]
When you add salt to water, you lower to freezing point of the substance.

So for example, normal water freezes at 0°C. But water with salt in it won't freeze at 0°C, because its freezing point is lowered.

In answer to the question. It takes longer for water with salt in it to freeze because the substance requires a lower temperature than normal water to freeze.
