<u>Voltage:</u>

It is basically the difference between the charges of the materials on the ends of the Wire

<em>also known as potential difference</em>

It is very similar to the movement of air, it moves from higher density to lower density. in this case, the change in density is the potential difference

So, since voltage is the difference between the charge available on the ends of a wire. Even if the wire splits in parallel circuit, the difference of the charges remains the same

<em>the more the potential difference, the faster electrons will move to the material with lower charge</em>

<u>Current:</u>

Current is the amount of electrons moving through a cross-section of a wire in a period of time

So basically, it is the amount of electrons that move across a given point on a wire in a period of time

If the wire splits, we will have the same amount of electrons moving through as they would if the wire was not split but now, the electrons passing are divided and hence, if we measure the current after the split, we will find that we have a lower current

that's because we have less charge moving through the cross-section of the wire since some of those electrons are moving through a different wire

That's why the current splits in a parallel circuit

Two carts, A and B, are connected by a spring and sitting at rest on a track. Cart A has a mass of 0.4 kg and Cart B has a mass
Ilya [14]

Both carts experience the same force but Cart A has a greater speed after the recoil.

The given parameters;

  • <em>Mass of the cart A = 0.4 kg</em>
  • <em>Mass of the cart B = 0.8 kg</em>

Apply the principle of conservation of linear momentum to determine the velocity of the carts after collision;

m_Av_0_A\ + m_Bv_0_B = m_Av_f_A \ + m_Bv_f_B\\\\the \ initial \ velocity \ of \ both \ carts = 0\\\\0.4(0) + 0.8(0) = 0.4v_f_A + 0.8v_f_B\\\\0 = 0.4v_f_A + 0.8v_f_B\\\\0.4v_f_A = -0.8v_f_B\\\\v_f_A= \frac{-0.8 v_f_B}{0.4} \\\\v_f_A = - 2 \ v_f_B \ \ m/s

According to Newton's third law of motion, action and reaction are equal and opposite. The force exerted on cart A is equal to the force exerted on cart B but in opposite direction.

F_A = -F_B

Thus, the correct statement that compares the motion and forces acting on the two carts is "Both carts experience the same force but Cart A has a greater speed after the recoil."

On the periodic table, which group of elements is not possible to form an ionic bond with?
Nookie1986 [14]
The Noble Gases because all of their shells are full; thus, they have no charge. If they have no charge, then we cannot form ionic bonds with them.

What is the possible resultant of a 2-unit vector and 4-unit vector?
galina1969 [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

resultant could have magnitude 4 - 2 ≤ V ≤ 4 + 2 or 2 ≤ V ≤ 6

If θ is the angle of the 4 unit vector, the resultant could have angle φ in the range of

φ = θ ± arcsin (2/4)

θ - 30° ≤ φ ≤ θ + 30°
