Answer:

The moon revolves around Earth because Earth is larger than the moon, so it is heavier, and has a greater gravitational pull. The plane of the moon's orbit is very close to the plane of Earth's orbit around the Sun. This is why planets revolve around the Sun, because it is larger, so therefore it has a greater gravitational pull.

An experiment is set up to test the angular resolution of an optical device when red light (wavelength ????r ) shines on an aper
Neko [114]

Explanation:

As per Rayleigh criterion, the angular resolution is given as follows:

\theta=\frac{1.22 \lambda}{D}

From this expression larger the size of aperture, smaller will be the value of angular resolution and hence, better will be the device i.e. precision for distinguishing two points at very high angular difference is higher.

A small block with a mass of 0.120 kg is attached to a cord passing through a hole in a frictionless, horizontal surface (Fig. 6
Rina8888 [55]

Answer:

a) 0.147 N

b) 9.408 N

c) 9.261 N

Explanation:

The tension on the cord is the only force keeping the block in circular motion, thus representing the entirety of its centripetal force \frac{mv^{2} }{r}. Plugging in values for initial and final states and we get answers for a and b. The work done by the person causes the centripetal force to increase, and thus is the difference between the final tension and the initial tension.

At room temperature, sound travels at a speed of about 344 m/s in air. You see a distant flash of lightning and hear the thunder
beks73 [17]

Answer:

d=1.67mi

Explanation:

Assuming the light takes essentially no time to reach you, the distance at which the lightning occurred can be calculated by multiplying the speed of sound by the time it takes to hear the thunder:

d=v_st\\d=344\frac{m}{s}(7.8s)\\d=2683.2m*\frac{1mi}{1609.34m}=1.67mi

murzikaleks [220]
<span>At the exact instant the blue ball reaches maximum height, it is stationary for that millisecond in time before it begins to fall, therefore its speed is zero. (The other factors listed have no effect on the speed at the moment of maximum height.)</span>

According to newtos first law of motion. what is required to make a object slow down.
ladessa [460]

Answer:

Friction

Explanation:

Friction is a force that slows down moving objects. If you roll a ball across a shaggy rug, you can see that there are lumps and bumps in the rug that make the ball slow down. The rubbing, or friction, between the ball and the rug is what makes the ball stop rolling. External Force is required.
