Answer:

The moon revolves around Earth because Earth is larger than the moon, so it is heavier, and has a greater gravitational pull. The plane of the moon's orbit is very close to the plane of Earth's orbit around the Sun. This is why planets revolve around the Sun, because it is larger, so therefore it has a greater gravitational pull.

Why are metals good conductors of electric current? Choose one of the following
ch4aika [34]

Answer: They possess high concentrations of free electrons

Explanation:

Let's start by explaining that a material is a good electrical conductor when it allows the flow of electric current without much resistance.

This is achieved because the atoms of which the material is composed, have electrons in their valence shell, which is the outermost layer where the electrons (the particles responsible for transporting electricity) can be easily detached to form atomic bonds, so there is no need of a huge amount of energy for these electrons to jump from one atom to another and form stable chemical bonds.

This is what happens with metals, because they have an atomic structure so united and stable that when an electric flow passes through it, the electrons in the metal flow unimpeded.

How did the distance from the sun affect the creation of planets?
cestrela7 [59]
The closest planet from the Sun is Mercury and the furthest is Pluto ( called the Dwarf Planet ). The 4 planets closest to the Sun ( Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars ) are the inner planets, made up mainly of rock and much denser than the 4 outer planets. The outer planets are called the Gas giants ( Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune ). They are made up mostly of gasses with smaller solid and liquid centers. The planets are created in a cloud of gas and dust ( a Solar nebula ). The center of the cloud became a star - the Sun. Closer to the center could stand only rocky material ( the inner planets ) and in the outer regions was icy material that creates the Gas giants.Because of it`s position in the Solar nebula, the proto-Jupiter became the biggest of the planets. From the Jupiter the planets became massive. Those formed closer to the proto-Sun were smaller and rocky.
