The table below gives the atomic mass and relative abundance values for the three isotopes of element M.
Serhud [2]

The average atomic mass formula is:

average atomic mass = \Sigma (percent abundane)\times (atomic mass)

Substituting the values in the formula:

average atomic mass = \frac{78.99\times 23.9850+10\times 24.9858+11.01\times 25.9826}{100}

average atomic mass = \frac{1894.57515+249.858+286.068426}{100}

average atomic mass = 24.30516 amu

Hence, 24.30516 amu is the average atomic mass of element M.

When the pressure that a gas exerts on a sealed container changes from 22.5 psi to psi the temperature changes from 110 c to 65.
ad-work [718]
Gay- Lussacs law states that the pressure of a gas is directly proportional to temperature for a fixed amount of gas at constant volume.
therefore P/T = k
where P - pressure , T - temperature and k - constant
\frac{P1}{T1} =  \frac{P2}{T2}

parameters for the first instance are on the left side and parameters for the second instance are on the right side of the equation
T1 - temperature in kelvin - 110 °C + 273 = 383 K
T2 - 65.0 °C + 273 = 338 K
substituting these values in the equation

\frac{22.5 psi}{383 K} =  \frac{P}{338K}
P = 19.9 psi
new pressure is 19.9 psi

If your unknow solid has an impurity that is insoluble in cyclohexane, will this impurity result in the molar mass of the unknow
ser-zykov [4K]

Answer:

High

Explanation:

When the unknown compound contains an impurity that is insoluble in cyclohexane, the solute will not dissolve in the solvent (cyclohexane) completely. ∆T of the solution would be smaller than it is supposed to be, when compared to a compound without such insoluble impurity. Molecular weight determination won't be accurate because the molecular weight obtained will be higher as a result of the fact that the mass of the solute would include the actual solute that is changing the temperature and the excess mass of the impurity.

An unknown amount of sodium azide (NaN3) reacts and produces 0.033 moles of nitrogen gas. What mass of sodium metal is produced
Monica [59]

Answer:

Mass of sodium metal is 130.87 gram

Explanation:

The complete reaction is

2 NaN3 --> 2 Na + 3 N2

We know that PV = nRT

n = \frac{PV}{RT}

On substituting the given values, we get

n = \frac{\frac{99707}{101325}*75 }{0.082 *(273.15 +15)} \\n = 3.02moles of N2

Sodium azide's molar mass

3.02 *(2/3) = 2.013 moles

Mass = 2.03 * 65.01 = 130.87 gram
