A lecturer is demonstrating two-slit interference with sound waves. Two speakers are used, 1.9 m apart. The sound frequency is 1

220 Hz and the speed of sound is 343 m/s. Students sit facing the speakers in a row of seats 6.2 m away. Along the row of students, what is the spacing between the locations on either side of the center line between the speakers where no sound is heard because of destructive interference? The angle may be to large to use small angle approximation. Answer in units of m.

Answer:

\Delta y = 0.92 m

Explanation:

As we know that the speed of the sound in air is

v = 343 m/s

frequency of the sound is

f = 1220 Hz

now the wavelength is given as

\lambda = \frac{v}{f}

\lambda = \frac{343}{1220}

\lambda = 0.28 m

now the position of minimum is given as

d sin\theta = \frac{\lambda}{2}

1.9 sin\theta = \frac{0.28}{2}

\theta = 4.24 degree

now the position of minimum intensity is given as

y = L tan\theta

y = 6.2 tan4.24

y = 0.46 m

so the separation between the minimum intensity on either sides is given as

\Delta y = 2y

\Delta y = 2(0.46)

\Delta y = 0.92 m

A 6.00-mH solenoid is connected in series with a 5.0-μF capacitor and an AC source. The solenoid has internal resistance 3.0 Ω w
son4ous [18]

Answer:

5773.50269 Hz

23 A

Explanation:

L = Inductance = 6 mH

C = Capacitance = 5 μF

R = Resistance = 3 Ω

\epsilon = Maximum emf = 69 V

Resonant angular frequency is given by

\omega=\dfrac{1}{\sqrt{LC}}\\\Rightarrow \omega=\dfrac{1}{\sqrt{6\times 10^{-3}\times 5\times 10^{-6}}}\\\Rightarrow \omega=5773.50269\ Hz

The resonant angular frequency is 5773.50269 Hz

Current is given by

I=\dfrac{\epsilon}{R}\\\Rightarrow I=\dfrac{69}{3}\\\Rightarrow I=23\ A

The current amplitude at the resonant angular frequency is 23 A

If the average velocity during the athlete's walk back
goblinko [34]

Hence ,From the Guide there are other parameters which with this equation will give the exact time the athlete's walk back

T=\frac{d}{1.50}

From the question we are told

If the average velocity during the athlete's walk back  to the starting line in Guided Example 2.5 is – 1.50 m/s,

Generally the equation Time spent  is mathematically given as

T=\frac{d}{v}

Therefore

T=\frac{d}{1.50}

Hence ,From the Guide there are other parameters which with this equation will give the exact time the athlete's walk back

T=\frac{d}{1.50}

A packet is dropped from a stationary helicopter, hovering at a height 'h' from the ground level, reaches the ground in 12s. Cal
Ksju [112]
Use kinematic equations to solve:

1) yf = yo + vo*t + 1/2at²

yf = final height
yo = initial height
vo = initial velocity
a = acceleration
t = time

yf - yo = vo*t + 1/2at²

yf - yo = h

vo = 0

Thus,

h = 1/2at²

h = 1/2(9.8)(12)² = 705.6 m

2) vf = vo + at

vo = 0

Thus,

vf = at

vf = (9.8)(12) = 117.6 m/s

The ability to reproduce is essential for a species, but not for an individual. There are some people that can't reproduce, but they're still alive!
