Water molecules are polar, with the Select one:
shusha [124]

Answer:

b. oxygen side being slightly negative and the hydrogen side being slightly positive.

Explanation:

The water molecule is a polar molecule, that is to say that its distribution of electronic density is different throughout the molecule.

In this way, in the water molecule there is a negative partial charge towards the oxygen atom and a positive partial charge towards the hydrogen atom.

This polar characteristic of the water molecule allows ions and other molecules to exhibit water solubility and is widely used in chemical reactions.

Why is the sky blue? The earth is surrounded by an atmosphere. ...
Darina [25.2K]
•The earth weighs-5.972 × 10^24 kg
•The sun is 94.079 million miles away
•A black hole is a region of spacetime where gravity is so strong that nothing—no particles or even electromagnetic radiation such as light—can escape from it.
•Airplanes fly because they are able to generate a force called Lift which normally moves the airplane upward. Lift is generated by the forward motion of the airplane through the air. This motion is produced by the Thrust of the engine.
•Flies need sticky feet to walk on ceilings, but not so sticky that they get stuck upside down. So each foot comes with a pair of claws that help hoist the gooey foot off the wall. Flies use several different techniques to get unstuck: pushing, twisting, and peeling its footpads free

From the list below, choose which groups are part of the periodic table
Nata [24]

The periodic table of the elements are describe the electronic configuration of the elements on which the properties of the elements depends. Among the given groups only metal, non-metal and semi-metal group are the part of periodic table. The metallic property depends upon the binding energy of the electrons with the nucleus. Thus the elements which have the valence electrons more near to the nucleus that is s-block elements are more metallic in nature. On the other hand the elements which have the valence electrons far from the nucleus are more non-metallic in nature like p-block elements. However the binding energy or the attraction of the outermost electrons to the nucleus depends not only its valence electrons position but also some other factors like shielding effect, effective nuclear charge etc.

The elements which are in between the metals and non-metals can be classified as semi-metals.

Although the conductivity of a material is an inherent property of the metals but sometime the nonmetals or semi-metals are also behave like a conductor due to presence of the other elements, thus it cannot be a p[property of the periodic table. Similarly acidity, flammable gases are not part of the periodic table.

In a calorimeter, the temperature of 100g of water decreased by 10 degrees Celsius when 10g of ice melted. How much heat was abs
Crazy boy [7]
So use equation: ΔH = MCΔT

M
= mass of water
C
= waters specific heat capacity (4.18)
ΔT = the temp. change of the reaction

ΔH = 100 x 4.18 x 10 = 4180J or 41.8KJ

so the cube absorbed 4180J of energy

hope that helps
