Express the angular velocity ω of the wheel in terms of the displacement d, the magnitude F of the applied force, and the moment

of inertia of the wheel Iw, if you've found such a solution. Otherwise, following the hints for this part should lead you to express the angular velocity ω of the wheel in terms of the displacement d, the wheel's radius r, and α.

Answer:

The angular velocity of the wheel in terms of d, F, and I is,  ω = d/t (F/I α)    s⁻¹

Explanation:

Given,

The angular velocity ω

The displacement d

The magnitude of the applied force, F

The moment of inertia of the wheel I = mr²

The angular velocity can be written as

                         ω = v /r

where,

                     v - linear velocity

                      r - radius of the wheel

                          ω = d/t (1/r)               (∵ v = d /t)

The force can be written as,

                          F = m a

                              = m α r                  (∵ a = α r)

Multiplying both sides by r

                          F r = m r² α

                           F r = I α                     (∵ I = mr²)

                              r = I α / F

Substituting in the above equation for ω

                          ω = d/t (F/I α)    s⁻¹

Hence, the angular velocity of the wheel in terms of d, F, and I is,  ω = d/t (F/I α)    s⁻¹

What is compression
Talja [164]
The answer is B) region of high pressure in a medium caused by a passing wave

Compression is the forcing of the molecules of a medium, be it water, air, or something else, as a wave passes by. This forcing together of the molecules raises the pressure of the medium in the area that the wave passes through.

A 0.80 kg basketball traveling upward at 5.0 m/s impacts an 8.0 10 kg tennis ball traveling downward at 5.0 m/s. The basketball’
vlabodo [156]

To solve this problem we will apply the concepts related to the conservation of momentum. This can be defined as the product between the mass and the velocity of each object, and by conservation it will be understood that the amount of the initial momentum is equal to the amount of the final momentum. By the law of conservation of momentum,

m_1u_1+m_2u_2 = m_1v_1+m_2v_2

Here,

m_1 = Mass of Basketball

m_2 = Mass of Tennis ball

u_1 = Initial velocity of Basketball

u_2 = Initial Velocity of Tennis ball

v_1 = Final velocity of Basketball

v_2 = Final velocity of the tennis ball

Replacing,

(0.8)(0.5)+(0.1)(-5.0)=(0.8)(0.3)+(0.1)v_2

Solving for the final velocity of the tennis ball

v_2 = 11m/s^2

Therefore the velocity of the tennis ball after collision is 11 m/s
