Even though Alice visits the wishing well frequently and always tosses in a coin for good luck, none of her wishes have come tru

e. As a result, she decides to change her strategy and make a more emphatic statement by throwing the coin downward into the well. If the water is 5.43 m below the point of release and she hears the splash 0.85 seconds later, determine the initial speed at which she threw the coin. (Take the speed of sound to be 343 m/s.)

Answer:

Explanation:

Total time taken = 0.85 s .

Time taken by sound to travel 5.43 m + time taken by coin to fall by 5.43 m = .85

5.43 / 343 + time taken by coin to fall by 5.43 m = .85

time taken by coin to fall by 5.43 m = .85 - 5.43/343 = .834 s

Let the initial velocity of throw of coin = u

displacement of coin s = 5.43 m

time take to fall t = .834 s

s = ut + 1/2 gt²

5.43 = u x .834 + .5 x 9.8 x .834²

5.43 = u x .834 + 3.41

u x .834 = 2.02

u = 2.42 m /s .

(6) Wagon B is at rest so it has no momentum at the start. If v is the velocity of the wagons locked together, then

(140 kg) (15 m/s) = (140 kg + 200 kg) v

==> v ≈ 6.2 m/s

(7) False. If you double the time it takes to perform the same amount of work, then you halve the power output:

E / (2t ) = 1/2 × E/t = 1/2 P

In an experiment conducted using the Young's double-slit apparatus, the separation between the slits is 20 µm. A first-order con
jeka57 [31]
To solve this problem, we use the formula
λ = s sin θ
where s is the separation and θ is the angle interference
So,
λ = 20 x 10^-6 sin 2.5
λ = 8.72 x 10^-7 m

The required angle for the fourth order bright fringe is
θb = sin⁻¹ (4λ / s) = sin⁻¹ (4 (8.72 x 10^-7 m)/ 20 x 10^-6 ) = 10.04°

The required angle for the fourth order dark fringe is
θd = sin⁻¹ (4.5 λ / s) = sin⁻¹ (4.5 (8.72 x 10^-7 m)/ 20 x 10^-6 ) = 11.31°

I. How does The Bhutan Forest Act of 1969, affect the lives of shifting cultivators?
ZanzabumX [31]

The Bhutan Forest Act of 1969, affect the lives of shifting cultivators because the act placed the status of Tsheri land on the same footing with wetland and rain-fed land.

What is shifting cultivators?

A field that had been developed whenever was left neglected for quite a long time, Shifting cultivators were tracked down in the sloping and forested lots of North-east and Central India. The existences of these ancestral individuals relied upon free development inside backwoods and on having the option to involve the land and woods for developing their harvests.

The Forest Act of 1969 has restricted new clearances for moving development however has not deterred the act of it where such development doesn't jeopardize the wellbeing of the roadway and public property. The Land Act of 1979 has put the situation with
Tsheri land on a similar footing with wetland and rain fed land.

Thus, Bhutan Forest Act of 1969, affect the lives of shifting cultivators.
