Help !!!! Estimate the number of breaths taken by a person during 44 years?
Lisa [10]
44 x 12. I got the 12 from the total of 12 months in a year.

44 > 40

x
12 > 10
----------
The way my teacher taught me how to estimate is look at the neighbor to 44 and 12. The only time 44 can become 50, is when the neighbor is 5 or up. Same thing for 12. Now, multiply 40 and 10.

40 x 10 = 400.

Therefore, your estimate is 400.

The real answer is 520 breaths.

How many electrons would it take to equal the mass of a proton? Use two significant figures.
mezya [45]
<span>How many electrons would it take to equal the mass of a proton:
Here's one way of finding the value of it:
=> number of electrons is equivalent to 1 proton.
Let's have an example.
1.6726*10 -24g
_______________
     1 proton
______________
9.109*10- ^28g
_______________
1 electron

Based on the given example above, the electrons is 1 839 per 1 proton.
It's about 1800 electrons/proton.</span>

You observe a hockey puck of mass 0.12 kg, traveling across the ice at speed 18.3 m/sec. The interaction of the puck and the ice
Galina-37 [17]

The stopping distance is 143.1 m

Explanation:

First of all, we have to find the acceleration of the hockey puck. This can be done by using Newton's second law of motion:

\sum F =ma

where

\sum F = F_f = -0.14 N is the net force acting on the puck (the force of friction, negative because it acts in a direction opposite to the direction of motion)

m = 0.12 kg is the mass of the puck

a is the acceleration

Solving for a,

a=\frac{\sum F}{m}=\frac{-0.14}{0.12}=-1.17 m/s^2

The motion of the puck is a uniformly accelerated motion, therefore we can use the following suvat equation:

v^2-u^2=2as

where:

v = 0 is the final velocity (the puck comes to a stop)

u = 18.3 m/s is the initial velocity

a=-1.17 m/s^2 is the acceleration

s is the stopping distance

And solving for s, we find

s=\frac{v^2-u^2}{2a}=\frac{0-(18.3)^2}{2(-1.17)}=143.1 m

Which of Earth's spheres have the greatest impact from the forest fire?
Vera_Pavlovna [14]
I would say the atmosphere because air and oxygen are essential for human life however it is debatable. You should check out this prezi and judge for yourself which sphere is effected the most from forest fires based on the descriptions on how a forest fire effects all four spheres.

If the mass of a material is 120 grams and the volume of the material is 23 cm3, what would the density of the material be?
oee [108]
The density is 5.22 g/cm³.

Density=\frac{mass}{volume}
Density=\frac{120 g}{23 cm {3} }
Density= 5.22 g/cm³
