A baseball is hit with a bat and, as a result, its direction is completely reversed and its speed is doubled. If the actual cont

Answer:

ratio aceleration to velocity is  a/vo =  -4

Explanation:

This is an impulse problem since the bat hits the ball and this changes its speed

       I = Δp

If we look for the average strength

     F t = m vf -mvo

They say that  vf = -2vo

Calculated

      F = [m (-2vo) -mvo] / t

      F = - m 3 vo / t

having the average force, we can look for acceleration with Newton's second law

      F = m a

      a = F / m

      a = (- 3m vo / t) / m

      a = -3 vo / t

They ask us for the relation of the acceleration with the initial velocity

     a / vo = - 3 / t

     a / vo = -3 / 0.73

    a / vo =  -4

A 10-kg dog is running with a speed of 5.0 m/s. what is the minimum work required to stop the dog in 2.40 s?
ankoles [38]
Given required solution

M=10kg W=? W=Fd
v=5.0m/s F=mg
t=2.40s =10*10=100N
S=VT
=5m/s*2.4s
=12m
so W=12*100
W=1200J

A car starts from rest and travels for 5.8 s with a uniform acceleration of 1.6 m/s² in the negative direction. What is the fina
elena-s [515]

Answer:

Final velocity of the car will be -9.28 m/sec

Explanation:

We have given that the car starts from the rest so initial velocity of the car u = 0 m /sec

Acceleration of the car a=1.6m/sec^2 in negative direction so acceleration will be a=-1.6m/sec^2

From first equation of motion we know that

v = u+at

So v=0+(-1.6)\times 5.8=-9.28m/sec

So final velocity will be -9.28 m/sec

N object has a charge of -2.0 μc. how many electrons must be removed so that the charge becomes +2.2 μc?
balandron [24]
Electrical Charge is a property of matter that causes it to experience a force when place in an electromagnetic field. Charge is measured in coulombs.
The change in the charge is 2.2- (2.0)= 4.2 μ c.
1 electron has a charge of 1.6 ×10∧-19 coulombs
Therefore, the number of electrons will be;
        = (4.2 ×10∧-6)/ (1.6 ×10∧-19)
        = 2.625 × 10∧13 electrons
