A small ball with mass 1.20 kg is mounted on one end of a rod 0.860 m long and of negligible mass. The system rotates in a horiz
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer:

0.88752 kgm²

0.02236 Nm

Explanation:

m = Mass of ball = 1.2 kg

L = Length of rod = 0.86 m

\theta = Angle = 90°

Rotational inertia is given by

I=mL^2\\\Rightarrow I=1.2\times 0.86^2\\\Rightarrow I=0.88752\ kgm^2

The rotational inertia is 0.88752 kgm²

Torque is given by

\tau=FLsin\theta\\\Rightarrow \tau=2.6\times 10^{-2}\times 0.86sin90\\\Rightarrow \tau=0.02236\ Nm

The torque is 0.02236 Nm

A ball is bouncing to a height that is 1/3 of the previous height after every bounce. What kind of sequence is this? How could y
tamaranim1 [39]

Answer and Explanation:

The ball is bouncing to a height of 1/3 of its previous height this is a type of geometric sequence the total distance can be found by the sum of geometric sequence

For example let the initial height is 243 fit

After one bounce it will reach  243/3 =81 feet

After second bounce 81/3=27 feet

After third bounce 27/3 =9 feet

After fourth bounce 9/3 =3 feet

So a sequence is formed that is 243,81,27,9,3..........

Here r=\frac{3}{9}=\frac{1}{3}

Sum of infinite GP = \frac{a}{1-r}

From this formula we can find the total distance traveled by the ball

If a dog walks north for 10 meters and then east for 10 meters, what is the direction of its displacement?
Katyanochek1 [597]

The direction of its displacement wil be

c.northeast

In fact, the dog walks north for 10 meters and east for another 10 meters. The path of the dog can be represented with two vectors, A pointing north (of magnitude 10 meters) and B pointing east (of magnitude 10 meters). The direction of the resultant vector (due to east) will be given by

tan \theta =\frac{A}{B}=\frac{10}{10}=1

\theta=tan^{-1} (1)=45^{\circ}

and the direction will be north-east.

My teacher didnt explain this well and im lost
Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Explanation:

(a) The given figure is a convex lens.

(b) In this figure, the object is placed between F and optical center of a lens. Convex lens is a converging lens. It converges the beam of light falling on it after reflection. The image is formed on the same side of the lens as the object.

The formed image is enlarged and it is virtual and erect.

(i) Type : virtual

(ii) Orientation : upright

(iii) Size : Enlarged
