Permanent magnet. An induced magnet would be created when a piece of iron (for example) is in contact with a magnet. Temporary magnets would be something like an electromagnet. Bar magnets are permanently magnetic unless we heat them or hammer them to cause their domains to loose alignment.

28. Which of the following correctly shows the order of highest amount of friction to the lowest amount of
Bad White [126]

Answer:

\mathrm{d.\:Static,\: Sliding,\:Rolling}

Explanation:

Static friction occurs when an object initially starts at rest. When the surfaces of the materials touch, the microscopic unevenness interlock greatest with each other, causing the most friction out of the three.

During sliding friction, an object is already moving or in motion. The microscopic surfaces still interlock, but because the object is in motion, it has a momentum. Therefore, the magnitude of sliding friction is less than that of static friction.

Rolling friction occurs when an object rolls across some surface. Rather than surfaces interlocking, rolling friction is caused by the constant distortion of surfaces. As it rolls, the surfaces of the object are constantly wrapping and changing. This distortion causes the rolling friction. However, it is much less in magnitude when compared to static or sliding friction.

A mass free to vibrate on a level, frictionless surface at the end of a horizontal spring is pulled 35 cm from its equilibrium p
saul85 [17]

Answer:

0.67 s

Explanation:

This is a simple harmonic motion (SHM).

The displacement, x, of an SHM is given by

x = A\cos(\omega t)

A is the amplitude and \omega is the angular frequency.

We could use a sine function, in which case we will include a phase angle, to indicate that the oscillation began from a non-equilibrium point. We are using the cosine function for this particular case because the oscillation began from an extreme end, which is one-quarter of a single oscillation, when measured from the equilibrium point. One-quarter of an oscillation corresponds to a phase angle of 90° or \frac{\pi}{4} radian.

From trigonometry, \sin A =\cos B if A and B are complementary.

At t = 0, x = 3.5

3.5 = A\cos(\omega \times0)

A =3.5

So

x = 3.5\cos(\omega t)

At t = 0.12, x = 1.5

1.5 = 3.5\cos(0.12\omega)

\cos(0.12\omega)=\dfrac{1.5}{3.5}=0.4286

0.12\omega =\cos^{-1}0.4286

0.12\omega = 1.13

\omega = 9.4

The period, T, is related to \omega by

T = \dfrac{2\pi}{\omega} = \dfrac{2\times3.14}{9.4}=0.67

What is the formula for kinetic energy
coldgirl [10]

Answer:

The formula for kinetic energy is K.E. = 1/2 mv 2 , where "m" stands for mass and "v" stands for velocity. Kinetic energy is typically measured in units of Joules, and 1 Joule is equal to 1 kilogram-meters squared per second squared.

5. If one object has a greater speed than a second object. does the first necessarily have a greater acceleration? Explain, usin
Sveta_85 [38]

Answer:

Explanation:

5. not necessarily so that the first object could have left with initial velocity and the second not, so even if the second has a greater acceleration its velocity is less than that of the first

6. The acceleration of the motorcycle is

     SI System Reductions

     Vo = 80 km / h (1000m / 1km) (1h / 3600s) = 22.2 m / s

     Vf = 90 km / h (1000m / 1km) (1h / 3600s) = 25 m / s

     Vf = Vo + at at = Vf-Vo

     am = (Vf-Vo) / t

     am = (25 -22.2) / t = 2.8 / t

      am= 2.8/t

For the bike we have

      Vf = 10 km / h (1000m / 1km) (1h / 3600s) = 2.78 m / s

      Vo = 0

      ab = (Vf -Vo) / t

      ab = (2.78 -0) / t

      ab = 2.8/t

Since time is the same for both of us, if we round to Significant figures the two accelerations are equal

7. If when an object is slowing or slowing down.

     For example, a car goes north and must stop at the traffic light, the acceleration of the brakes goes south

8. Yes, since an object can go to the left and the acceleration to the right, but the object will lose speed over time

9. in the launch of projectiles the acceleration is negative and the speed after half the path is also negative

10. Car B must be moving to car A, because if they leave together B has more acceleration, bone that travels the distance at the same time

11. When we have friction, the velocity of an object increases by an external force, but the friction also increases the acceleration, but since it is positive, the velocity increases until the acceleration is zero and hence the velocity remains constant.
