Answer:

What is the concentration, in m/v percent, of a solution prepared from 50 g NaCl and 2.5 L of solution?
Serjik [45]
When we convert the given mass in grams and volume in liters to m/v percent, we recall that m/v percent is expressed as grams/100 milliliters. In this case the expression becomes (50 grams/ 2500 L)*(0.1L/100ml), that is equal to 0.002 grams/ 100 mL. Hence the the concentration is equal to 0.2 m/v percent.

A teacher performs a flame test lab experiment for various compounds. During the lab, the teacher mislabels one of the solutions
nexus9112 [7]

Answer: By performing the flame test

Explanation:

The flame test can be performed by the teacher to visually identify the substance in the solution. The metals give a characteristic color on burning. The heat of the flame causes the excitation of the electrons present in the metal ions this leads to release of energy along with the emission of visible wavelength of light. This visible light can be observed by human eye. For example, the copper produces the blue color in flame, barium gives green flame, and sodium gives yellow flame.

What is the mass of 2.70 ×10^22 molecules of NaOH (Molar mass = 40.0 g/mol)?
Viefleur [7K]
Data:
Molar Mass of NaOH = 40 g/mol

Solving: <span>According to the Law Avogradro, we have in 1 mole of a substance, 6.02x10²³ atoms/mol or molecules
</span>
1 mol -------------------- 6.02*10²³ molecules
y mol -------------------- 2.70*10²² molecules

6.02*10²³y = 0.270*10²³
y =  \frac{0.270*\diagup\!\!\!\!\!\!10^{\diagup\!\!\!\!\!\!23}}{6.02*\diagup\!\!\!\!\!\!10^{\diagup\!\!\!\!\!\!23}}
\boxed{y \approx 0.04\:mol}

Solving: <span>Find the mass value now
</span>
40 g ----------------- 1 mol of NaOH
x g ------------- 0.04 mol of NaOH

x = 40*0.04
\boxed{\boxed{x = 1.6\:g}}\end{array}}\qquad\quad\checkmark

Answer:
The mass is 1.6 grams
