6) 100 ml of water is initially at 20°C. 30,000 J of heat is added to the water. What is temperature change for the water?
vovangra [49]
<h2>Δt = 71.67 °C</h2>

The temperature change of water is equal to 71.67 °C

<h3>Explanation:</h3>

Given:

Amount of transferred energy = 30,000 K J

Mass of water = 100 ml

Initial temperature = 20°C

To find the change in temperature of water.

Formula for Heat capacity is given by

Q = m×c×Δt ........................................(1)

where:

Q = Heat capacity of the substance (in J)

m=mass of the substance being heated in grams(g)

c = the specific heat of the substance in J/(g.°C)

Δt = Change in temperature (in °C)

Δt = (Final temperature - Initial temperature) = T(f) - T(i)

Q = 30,000 J

Mass of water = m = 100 ml

1 ml = 1 g ................................................(2)

Therefore m = 100 ml = 100 g

Specific heat of water is c = 4.186 J /g.

Δt = ?

Substituting these in equation (1), we get

Q = m×c×Δt

Rearranging the terms for Δt,

Δt = \frac{Q}{m\times c}

Δt = \frac{30,000}{100\times 4.186}  = \frac{30,000}{418.6}= 71.67\°C

Δt = 71.67 °C

A rock is thrown at an angle of 30 degrees above the horizontal with initial velocity 15m/s what is the displacement when the ro
Delvig [45]

The displacement of the rock will be the same as the total horizontal distance traveled. Here the rock's horizontal position is given by

x=\left(15\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s}\right)\cos30^\circ\,t

so to find the horizontal distance it traversed, we need to know the time it took for the rock to return to the ground. We use the rock's vertical position over time to figure that out:

y=\left(15\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s}\right)\sin30^\circ\,t-\dfrac g2t^2=0

where g=9.8\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s^2} is the acceleration due to gravity. Then we find that t\approx1.5\,\mathrm s, at which point we find x\approx20\,\mathrm m.

A type of cuckoo clock keeps time by having a mass bouncing on a spring, usually something cute like a cherub in a chair. What f
Paul [167]

Answer:

k = 7.32 N/m

Explanation:

We know that the time period of a spring mass system is given as follows:

T = 2π√(m/k)

T² = 4π²m/k

k = 4π²m/T²

where,

k = force constant = ?

m = mass = 0.019 kg

T = Time Period = 0.32 s

Therefore,

k = 4π²(0.019 kg)/(0.32 s)²

<u>k = 7.32 N/m</u>
