molar concentration of Sn²⁺ ions = 0.273 M

molar concentration of Al³⁺ ions = 0.415 M

molar concentration of Cl⁻ ions = 1.692 M

Explanation:

First we calculate the number of moles of tin (II) chloride (SnCl₂) in the first solution:

number of moles = molar concentration × volume (L)

number of moles of SnCl₂ = 0.55 × 0.45 = 0.248 moles

And the number of moles of aluminum chloride (AlCl₃) in the second solution:

number of moles = molar concentration × volume (L)

number of moles of AlCl₃ = 0.7 × 0.65 = 0.455 moles

0.248 moles of SnCl₂ contains 0.248 moles of Sn²⁺ ions and 2 × 0.248 = 0.496 moles of Cl⁻ ions

0.455 moles of AlCl₃ contains 0.455 moles of Al³⁺ ions and 3 × 0.455 = 1.365 moles of Cl⁻ ions

Volume of the final solution = 450 mL + 650 mL = 1100 mL = 1.1 L

molar concentration = number of moles / volume (L)

molar concentration of Sn²⁺ ions = 0.248 / 1.1 = 0.273 M

molar concentration of Al³⁺ ions = 0.455 / 1.1 = 0.415 M

molar concentration of Cl⁻ ions = (0.496 + 1.365) / 1.1 = 1.692 M

Two teaspoons of salt are added to a glass of water which is then stirred until no more salt grains can be seen. Two more teaspo
Naya [18.7K]
Hello!

After the addition of the last two teaspoons of salt, the solution is saturated

A solution is saturated when it has the highest amount of solute (in this case the salt) that the solvent (in this case the water) can dissolve at that pressure and temperature.

Visually, a saturated solution can be detected when the adding of more solute results in the settling of solute grains (in this case salt) at the bottom of the container, because the solvent couldn't dissolve them at that pressure and temperature. That's why we can say that the solution is saturated.

Have a nice day!

If I want to accelerate a mass of 3 kg at 5 m/s2 then how much force should I apply?
Stolb23 [73]

Answer: The force that must be applied is 15 N.

Explanation:

Force exerted on the object is defined as the product of mass of the object and the acceleration of the object.

Mathematically,

F=m\times a

where,

F = force exerted = ?

m = mass of the object = 3 kg

a = acceleration of the object = 5m/s^2

Putting values in above equation, we get:

F=3kg\times 5m/s^2=15N

Hence, the force that must be applied is 15 N.
