Answer:

Angular acceleration of the disk ∝ = K

Explanation:

Given that;

Angular velocity function given by ω = Kt + L

Angular acceleration of the disk at t=T is = ?

Now,

Angular velocity;

ω = Kt + L

Angular acceleration is;

∝ = dω / dt

= \frac{d}{dt} ( Kt + L )

At t = T

∝ = K

Because  ∝  is not dependent on t

Therefore

Angular acceleration of the disk ∝ = K

n explosion breaks an object initially at rest into two pieces, one of which has 2.0 times the mass of the other. If 8400 J of k
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

The heavier piece acquired 2800 J  kinetic energy

Explanation:

From the principle of conservation of linear momentum:

0 = M₁v₁ - M₂v₂

M₁v₁ = M₂v₂

let the second piece be the heavier mass, then

M₁v₁ = (2M₁)v₂

v₁  = 2v₂ and v₂ = ¹/₂ v₁

From the principle of conservation of kinetic energy:

¹/₂ K.E₁ + ¹/₂ K.E₂ = 8400 J

¹/₂ M₁(v₁)² + ¹/₂ (2M₁)(¹/₂v₁)² = 8400

¹/₂ M₁(v₁)² + ¹/₄M₁(v₁)² = 8400

K.E₁ + ¹/₂K.E₁ = 8400

Now, we determine K.E₁ and note that K.E₂ = ¹/₂K.E₁

1.5 K.E₁ = 8400

K.E₁ = 8400/1.5

K.E₁ = 5600 J

K.E₂ = ¹/₂K.E₁ = 0.5*5600 J = 2800 J

Therefore, the heavier piece acquired 2800 J  kinetic energy

A ball rolls horizontally off a table and a height of 1.4 m with a speed of 4 m/s. How long does it take the ball to reach the g
Hitman42 [59]

For vertical motion, use the following kinematics equation:

H(t) = X + Vt + 0.5At²

H(t) is the height of the ball at any point in time t for t ≥ 0s

X is the initial height

V is the initial vertical velocity

A is the constant vertical acceleration

Given values:

X = 1.4m

V = 0m/s (starting from free fall)

A = -9.81m/s² (downward acceleration due to gravity near the earth's surface)

Plug in these values to get H(t):

H(t) = 1.4 + 0t - 4.905t²

H(t) = 1.4 - 4.905t²

We want to calculate when the ball hits the ground, i.e. find a time t when H(t) = 0m, so let us substitute H(t) = 0 into the equation and solve for t:

1.4 - 4.905t² = 0

4.905t² = 1.4

t² = 0.2854

t = ±0.5342s

Reject t = -0.5342s because this doesn't make sense within the context of the problem (we only let t ≥ 0s for the ball's motion H(t))

t = 0.53s

arzan, who weighs 700 N, swings from a cliff at the end of a convenient vine thatis 20 m long. From the top of the cliff to the
vekshin1

Answer:

= 7.07 m

Explanation:

The Tarzan reaches bottom of swing after descending 2.5 m,

change in his potential energy equals his kinetic energy at bottom of swing

m g h = (1/2) m v²   ,

hence speed v of Tarzan at bottom of swing is given as

v = ( 2 g h )1/2

= ( 2 × 9.8 × 2.5 )1/2

= 7 m/s

At the bottom of swing, if the vine breaks, then he is moving with horizontal velocity 7 m/s in gravitational field.

If vertical distance from ground to bottom of swing is 5 m, then time t for Tarzan to reach ground is given by

S = (1/2)g t2 or   t = (2S/g)1/2

= ( 2 × 5 / 9.8 )1/2

= 1.01 s

Horizontal distance traveled by Tarzan = 1.01 × 7

= 7.07 m
