Just when you posted that question, I happened to be putting my hand into the desk drawer here in my hotel room, and there it was !  Way in the back of the drawer.  Do you need it mailed to you ?

What is the intensity of a sound with a measured intensity level of 84 db? (i0 = 10-12 w/m2)?
Ivahew [28]
The unit measurement for sound can be expressed in terms of intensity and in decibels. The intensity of sound is the measure of its power over unit area. The common unit of measurement is in decibels. This is commonly used in measuring the extent of noise. The conversion from intensity to the decibel unit is through logarithmic function. The formula is:

dB = 10 log(I/I0), where I0 is 10^-12 Watts per square meter

Substituting the values to the equation,

84 = 10log(I/10^-12)
I = 0.0002512 W/m2

In scientific notation the intensity is 2.512 x 10^-4 W/m^2.

30. The length of mercury thread when it is at 0°C, 100°C and at an unknown temperature 0 is 25mm, 225mm and 175mm respectively.
yulyashka [42]

Answer:

75°C

Explanation:

175−25/225−25=x−0/100−0

150/200=x/100

x=150×100/200

= 75°C

A positively charged wire with uniform charge density +λ lies along the x-axis and a negatively charged wire with uniform charge
Kisachek [45]

Answer:

\vec{E} = \frac{\lambda}{2\pi\epsilon_0}[\frac{1}{y}(\^y) - \frac{1}{x}(\^x)]

Explanation:

The electric field created by an infinitely long wire can be found by Gauss' Law.

\int \vec{E}d\vec{a} = \frac{Q_{enc}}{\epsilon_0}\\E2\pi r h = \frac{\lambda h}{\epsilon_0}\\\vec{E} = \frac{\lambda}{2\pi\epsilon_0 r} \^r

For the electric field at point (x,y), the superposition of electric fields created by both lines should be calculated. The distance 'r' for the first wire is equal to 'y', and equal to 'x' for the second wire.

\vec{E} = \vec{E}_1 + \vec{E}_2 = \frac{\lambda}{2\pi\epsilon_0 y}(\^y) + \frac{-\lambda}{2\pi\epsilon_0 x}(\^x)\\\vec{E} = \frac{\lambda}{2\pi\epsilon_0 y}(\^y) - \frac{\lambda}{2\pi\epsilon_0 x}(\^x)\\\vec{E} = \frac{\lambda}{2\pi\epsilon_0}[\frac{1}{y}(\^y) - \frac{1}{x}(\^x)]

17. A distance-time graph indicates that an object moves 120 meters in 5 seconds and then remains at rest for 5 seconds. What is
irina1246 [14]

Answer:

12 m/s

Explanation:

Speed is distance moved per unit time and expressed as

S=d/t

S is speed, d is distance and t is time.

When at rest for five minutes, distance moved is zero hence speed is 0/5=0 m/s

When having moved 120 m for 5 s then speed is

S=120/5=24 m/s

Average speed is the average of these two speeda

Average speed=(24+0)÷2=24/2=12 m/s

Therefore, average speed is 12 m/s
